Hey all,

I used to post on this site over a year ago. I remember Lathais and Jenovaomega from previous trips to the site, but some new names here as well. Good to see some familiars still on the board so I don't feel quite as ridiculous.

I've been doing some researching as I was getting ready to reactivate my account, and as expected, it looks like the Warlock trees have changed a lot, and the level cap is now 80 as opposed to 70. When I had stopped playing, my character was a level 55 blood elf lock. I'm looking at picking this character back up, but was hoping maybe to get some insight on to how I should be respeccing with this update.

Previously I had the 41 point tree to UA, and was working down the destro tree with I think a few points in demonology for the stamina boost. I enjoyed the affliction / drain tanking style of play, it worked well for me both in PvE and PvP. I see the new talents for Haunt and improved Fear, these both look like things I'm going to want. From what I was looking at, here is what I came up with.

Aside from just the spec, I had a few more questions.

What changes have been made to fear in the past 15 months? When I quit, it was 12 seconds first cast unresisted, and diminishing returns bringing it to 9, 6, 3, 0 afterwards. These diminishing returns were shared with seduce.

Deathcoil was previously not connected to Fear's diminishing returns / cooldown, is this still the case?

I had been leveling tailoring for the FSW set, is tailoring (mine is at 300+) still going to be beneficial for me with the new expansion at level 80, or should I consider dropping it for something else?

When I last played, the stat you wanted to focus on primarily for a lock was stamina for leveling or PvP purposes. I have a little over 5k HP at level 55 when I was wearing my stamina gear. Is this still the route to go while leveling?

Any advice to help me get reacclimated would be greatly appreciated. I've been a long time away, and am looking forward to getting back into the game.

Thank you!

For you build, haunt builds are great for levelling, however I levelled with a SiLi/Felguard style for 70-80 so can't comment on it much. One thing I do know, is you took dark pact and it's pretty worthless now. LT is better, especially with Haunt as you can heal yourself back easily.

Fear/Seduce hasn't changed that I know of.

DC didn't change as far as I know.

Most of the tailoring recipes are Bind on Equip now, the FSW isn't good compared to what you can get questing anymore. The main benefit of tailoring now is the embroideries for cloaks and cheaper pant enchants. For the cloaks there's one that gives a chance for extra damage when your spells land, and is modified by your Spell Power as far as I can tell. There's also one that gives you mana back and an attack power one. The Spellthreads for pants anyone can use, but there's ones you make and apply directly to your pants only that have cheaper mats than the ones you can make and trade/sell. I still prefer Tailoring/Enchanting on my lock for the embroideries and ring enchants.

Sta is not as important anymore, though still is. Spirit is actually useful to us now though as Fel Armor gives you Spell Damage equal to 30%ish of your Spirit and Life Tap scales with Spirit not Spell Power now.

Other than that just go play and have fun.

Spirit? Seriously? Holy crap, I HAVE missed a lot. Spirit used to be a throwaway stat. These are strange times, indeed. Glad to hear tailoring/enchanting is still a good combo, I think when I left my enchanting was in the 300s.

Any decent leveling suggestions for a 55er to go?

get to 58 then start following James Levelling guide. It is now available in add-on format and free. It can be found at www.wow-pro.com. To get to 58 I think Western/Eastern Plaugelands should have some decent quests for you.
