Hello everyone,

So, I have gone and switched specs to survival. This marks the first time I have ever drastically changed my hunters playstyle and while timid about the change, It is quite refreshing. I have read up about some rotations etc, but also had a few questions for those more comfortable and experienced with the survival tree...

1) In terms of stat priority, should Agility always be my number one concern?

2) I was using a Spirit Beast as my pet as BM... Now I have to hit the wilderness once again in search of a new companion. I was considering a Wolf, but was wondering if there is a more desirable pet that would better compliment my new spec?

Aside from that, I am just trying to work on my rotation and become much more efficient with the new spec. Any information, suggestions, or direction relevant to my questions or the Survival spec in general, would be greatly appreciated! Thank you in advance!

According to Aethien raptors and wasps are really good to have now. :D Agi is still important for any hunter spec. :D Lots of agility! As far as hit rating goes they will have to answer that :D

From what I'm reading people are going back and forth on raptors. They can be very good, but they can also be less good, while cats are very consistent. Wasps are the highest if there is no feral druid in the raid to put FF up.

It's hit -> agility, but haste is also nice, just because it lets us tighten up our rotations. For itemization I suggest, as always, going to ej forums and grabbing the latest spreadsheet.

Haste isn't super necessary with Imp Hawk and glyph, as you will get the proc a bunch, and it will bring your steadies down quite a bit.

1: You should be going for dps, not for a particular stat.
Hit is good for dps until capped, Agi is better than AP, crit is better than haste.
Getting a high crit % is important (and easy) as SV, because there are so much synergies with crits.

2: If no Druid/lock for Fearie Fire/CoRecklessness > Wasp.
If that buff is there but there's no Feral for Mangle > Moths or raptors win.
Cats only win if there's mangle on the target, else they don't keep up with raptors.
(moths are behind raptors, but less dependant upon RNG)

edit: @ Yuppley: Haste isn't good because Steady Shot is a filler shot now, not (purely) because of IAotH, but yes with 1/5 IAotH + Glyph me steadies drop a tiny bit below 1.5 sec and I have very little haste.
