Wasn't this supposed to change so we could summon for 5 minutes? Or am I missing/misreading something.

I summon a person, portal disappears.... Acts like it always did. Not that it makes much of a difference, just wondering if anyone has seen different.

You're right. There's nothing in the tooltip to say it works any different, nothing in spellbook extra, nothing.

I haven't tested it in a raid environment though. Perhaps it works differently there...but I doubt it.

Anyone else got a clue about this?

We had to make a change to the new warlock summoning mechanic at the last second to prevent an exploit. Our apologies to all the law-abiding warlocks who have to suffer with a painful cooldown on your summon in order to fix this problem. We plan on getting the Ritual working correctly as soon as possible. You won't have to put up with a 2 minute cooldown for more than a few days. Standard caveats apply that this could change for any number of reasons, but we wanted to keep you informed of our plans at this time.

That's no answer. Or have I missed one?!

Wow and I thought some of the posts on here were hard to read lol. Good info though. Maybe they will be adding the fix for the spell during this maintenance.

From what I have read on MMO-Champion it looks like there were almost no restrictions on the stone, so people were able to be summoned almost anywhere.. So they changed it back to normal (leaving in the 2-min CD) while they fix it.

People were able to be summoned almost anywhere...well...what's wrong with that? It's our power, leave it alone. How is this an exploit, pray tell?

Ever have 30+ people on your team in Warsong Gulch?

Well, a rumor is that the bug was allowing more people the be in an instance or raid than should be. Apparently, the check was made at the time of the summon, not the acceptance.

Therefore, if 4 people went into an instance. Warlock summons the stone, and 2 summons were started at the same time, you could have 6 people in a 5 man.

In a 10 man, bring 9 in, summon stone, start 4 summons and have 13 people in a 10 man raid,

In a 25 man, have 24 people in, 12 summons, 36 people in a 25 man raid.

Definately broken.

Genius! Damn, I wish I'd had a chance to do that!

Why? It's easy enough with a full geared group. Even the 25's are easy with some undergeared people. I wouldn't want to share my loot with more people.

Some people may want to exploit it for a larger group, for faster raids. Such people may not be doing it for loot, but for the achievements.

With a geared group that knows what they are doing, even the achievements are easily obtainable with 25. Bringing 12 extra people just brings more chances for a nub to die on heigan, ******** that achievement, or to drop a bomb on the raid in Grobb. Really, if anything, it would be counter-productive to a fast raid organizing that many more people.

Had this gone live though how many guilds would have downed Sarth +3 with a full 40 man raid. People would have exploited this to its fullest, you would have had pugs running Sarth 3D. I am personally glad that it never made it live, it would cheapen the achievement which I am hoping to have on Sunday.

How about for a fackin laff?

It's a game, you know.

******** to it.

I dunno know if you remember, but an entire guild once got banned for using a raid exploit. i'd rather not risk that. Even if it had made it live, as there's really no point anyway.

They could have at least removed the 2 minute cooldown on summoning during the maintenance. Not a huge deal but still kind of annoying to have to wait.

Yes removing the CD would have been nice, but I am guessing on we will have our cool stone tomorrow.
