I leveled 70-80 as holy. It was not a problem. I used a leveling build that including Spirt Tap and all the Smite boosting talents.

In general I think the higher level you go and the better your eq, the easier leveling holy or disc becomes.

I leveled from 60-80 as holy. I did not include spirit tap or and smite increasing talents and still leveled quite fine.

Though 60-70 I mainly ran instances, from 70-80 I quested quite a bit, hit 80 within 8 days after the release of Wrath.

With the inclusion of spellpower instead of +healing +damage gear, being a healing class is not really as much of a hindrance to questing as it once was. It's still not as fast as a dps spec, it's still a respectable speed.

1-64 as holy on my Dwarf, 1-80 as disc on my priest. It was fun, else I wouldn't have done it ;). And it was before the spellpower buff.

I didn't level from 1-59 ;-). He logged on and was magically whisked up to level 59 by a pair of night elf hunters. It was fun watching all the people at the IF bank going WTF as my priest went ding after ding after ding until he was level 59 and ran around with no talents and still wearing level 1 tattered shirt(or whatever the starting gear is. :-P

Yeah leveled 3 toons to 60 just before the expansion release. My warrior, shaman, and priest. Used hunters on the other account to solo through content with the warrior and shaman on auto follow, then granted the priest those levels.

About 2 weeks before wrath hit I leveled my priest to 70 and stuck with him through Wrath. I'm leveling my shaman now. Oddly enough, my rogue, which I had at 70 long before any of those classes, I haven't touched for more than one session since wrath was released.

I totally agree with this. I have levelled 70-80 a Holy & Disc and found it enjoyable, I briefly went back to shadow after a respec for a dungeon run and hated it.

Does "dark side" mean shadow priest or the depraved, sin-ridden existence we see in your posts? ;P

Can't it be both?

I can't say I've had too much first-hand experience with leveling a Priest, but there was a dude in our guild who leveled all the way up to 76 as Holy and did it pretty damn fast. The toon is kind of stuck at 76 now since he started a DK and made it a tank.

I got to 40 and got Shadow Form, but didn't feel comfortable with it (for the same reason I've never rolled a warlock. Not keen on the dark side). So I respecced Holy and haven't looked back. It's just as easy, because you have to factor in the 'instance-factor' - put 'Holy Spec' or 'Healer' into LFG and you'll get in groups in no time...

I've done most of the achievements for instances and missed out a couple of areas through leveling in instances. The first 40 odd points in Holy double as damage dealing talents; I'm 51 now and going into the Disc talents to get meditation. Spirit Tap is a must (I forgot to get it in my respec!). I'll go further into Holy once I have meditation and concentrate on healing.

Just my two penny's :)

I levelled to 41 as holy. It got real slow- but I didn't have a 70 alliance on that server, so my gear suffered. I went shadow up to 57, now I'm back to holy. I mentioned this in general forums, but holy just feels "right" to me. I know warcraft lore has dark shadow priests, but I don't want to be one. I want to be a healer type, and help people. I still don't have a 70 or 80 alliance, but my 69 ret pally had 2 gathering professions, so I could get a little better gear off AH. Soon I'll be in outlands anyways where quest rewards are actually decent (compared to old world quest rewards which are largely crap).

I considered going disc, but I just don't know much about it. I am thinking about putting about 10 points into it though. I also have 5 in spirit tap (and imp.), I feel this is necessary to avoid drinking all the time (or not going oom when you get 2 adds). And I also have the smite talents, most all other talents are things to improve healing (though some improve damage as well).

I'm also doing it for the challenge, not just because it feels right. I had one girl said she couldn't level in outlands solo as holy (and went shadow for the xp until 80). I don't care for this girl very much, so I just want to prove (to myself at least) that it can be done without too much trouble.
