Prot vs HolyFollow

#1 Jan 22 2009 at 4:07 PM Rating: Default
I recently picked up my paladin at level 30 and leveled him as ret to 70. I really enjoy prot and holy is okay. The groups i run with already have their tanks set up for 80, which would force me to go holy. I can't decide what to do.. I either stay ret and level picking up holy gear along the way to 80, or I go prot and level up picking only prot gear up as I level. It seems that healers are more in demand than tanks are atm.

Any Suggestions?

Why dont you stay as Ret? Why does it have to be between prot and holy?

Eh believe it or not rets not really my style of play. I like how quickly it kills and all the other paladins are like oh boy I get to go ret, but not me. I like the demand of holy and prot so I choose out of what's needed.

Well I don't know about everyone else's server, but it seems to me I'm always waiting for tanks, not healers. If you are in a guild with all tanks, and no room for tanks and you really want to tank, you will either have to

a) Somehow convince your guild that you need another tank.
b) Just suck it up, become a healer, and keep a tank set for when there's no tanks on but there are healers.
c) Get into another guild.

I agree with Jack's suggestions if you are wanting to tank, cause really it's about what is fun for you. If you honestly don't care which you are doing, do what is more needed. On Jack's realm apparently tanks are lacking, but I know on my realm there is constantly 5-6 Heroic groups looking for a healer for the same instance. There's tanks galore! So, if you were on Bloodhoof, I'd say go Holy. Really is going to be different for each person.
