Draenai vs. HumanFollow

#1 Jan 22 2009 at 12:17 PM Rating: Default
Whats better between a Draenai vs. Human dk. That way I can clear things up with my guild. I'm a human DK so doesn't matter to me. I hear Draenai's are better. Bigger maybe! But humans have + in swords. Soooo

Thanks mental. You the man. I just remember reading Pre Wotlk release that you all were discussing the differences between the races and remember seeing that the draenai were not one of the top choices. I think it was....dwarf for +axe and Humans with Nelf being 3rd...draenai 4th and Gnome 5th. Only thing is what happened to the evil laugh that the dk's had. Now its all normal race voices. =(

Plus, Draenei DKs make the RPer in me die a little inside.

I agree that human is a better choice due to the sword skill (the rep bonus is pretty good too)...I picked draenei because I don't really think ahead (though the 1% hit bonus is nice as I'm the only draenei in my guild's 10man group).

small comment,
every man for himself is an amazing racial ability in pve. in pvp you generally will get the trinket for the resilence, but at least its nice to have the break CC effect, and in pve it allows you to break many things on both the tanking and dps fronts, potentially saving a wipe or just keeping your dps up if you get sheeped while gargoyle is out.

human rep bonus = win too

The majority of raids have a shaman healer, and since only draenai can be shamans you pretty much know that 90% of the time you'll have that 1% from someone else.

Basicly theres 3 point at which human is win, or rather 4:

1: Sword expertise (ok, dwarf has axe ><)
2: Rep, dont underestimate this
3: Every man for himself, in pve ull be using this alot more then u think, its a 2nd way to get rid of stuf flike fear :)
4: looks.. beats dreanei cows any day :P

Humans have the most OP racials in the game currently. Will of the forsaken, except better. Faster rep. Expertise to the best two 2h weapon specialties (I'm an orc, getting a decent axe is rough, swords have been easier to get since pre-bc). Increased stealth detection that's active 100% of the time now?

That said I'm rolling an alt ally NE DK on another server and the new shadowmeld is pretty crazy too. Alliance racials blow Horde racials out of the water.

Wish the evil laugh would come back lol. I thought it was pretty cool. But now oh well just a normal human laugh no "I'm going to crush you" laugh. My friend just rolled a Draenai DK on another server then after getting to 60 he deleted it and made a human. lol Thats what he gets for not listening to me. His reply was....>< I hate to say this "I likem big though".

Big Draenei DK does look kind of cool. The problem I have is their hoof feet. Those just put me off. The face tentacles don't help either. But those hoofs? Ugggh. Other than those they do look pretty cool.

Yeah, Shadowmeld is awesome for tanks, especially Unholy ones.

[EDIT]

Yeah, I actually meant Quickness.

Shadowmeld is EVIL for tanks. I was in an instance last week where he accidentally hit it. Priest already had high threat and had been hit a few times (more tanks fault though--he was under-geared and under-skilled). So, the boss killed her in one hit and we all went down.

After we made him remove the ability from his action bar, the Shaman and Priest set up a system to switch off main healing with DpS, just so the Priest's threat (Fade and all) wouldn't get too high.

We died again, but got much closer. The crappy tank left, we replaced him with a DK from the Priest's guild and we ripped that boss apart. XD

Nothing new about being rated down. >< I was just being honest. I remember when the threads on DK started reading about how each spec was different. Then I read about unholy tanking. I knew to be a tank you'd have to take those 15 points blade barrier ect. No I wasn't joking. Just reading and trying to learn. If being rated down helps me learn..well so be it :D

All 3 trees can tank. Just need to make sure and take certain 15 points. They're all a little bit diff tanking style

Thanks again mental for clearing that up. Going to run ramparts today to get a feel for dk group roll. Went back to blood from unholy. >< We'll see how it goes.
