Basically this thread is just me wondering what peoples thoughts are on the new changes to rogues in the new patch.

I personally think that the change to FoK is the amazing. My guild rain Heroic Naxx last night and all rogues were sitting over 2k dps on trash(I know it is just trash, but downing trash quickly helps for the time achievement) easily as we were just spamming FoK. I personally was using white damage on single targets, but not sure about the rest. I always thought that FoK was sub-par aoe, but now I really like it.

As for the Feint change, I personally don't ever use feint so I haven't really got to see anything useful with it.

I'm glad they fixed the HaT bug, but only because I'm tired of people in here praising their "leet" dps that was only good because of a glitch.

I'm not a miner on my rogue, but I am on my warrior and the change to node mining is rather sexy.

Any other experiences people would like to add?

um... I do about 2500-3k on trash in naxx as mute without fok. Thats in 10man... It's nice for killing the adds in ZG when doing ZG mount runs, and the snakes before first boss in Gundrak. Not all that great tbh, but its a cute little aoe i guess.

I'm fairly pleased with the change to FoK. It won't put us anywhere near the AoE that's possible with hunters, mages, warlocks, etc, but at least it gives us some way of adding to the mix.

It's also invaluable for redirecting scarabs on Anub'rekahn. TotT + FoK = Win.

The FoK change is pretty sweet.

Heroic Naxx last night saw me at top dps/dmg done on AoE pulls (we pull 2-3 groups every pull) just by spamming FoK and Auto attacking the big guys with SnD up. I had Spriests and locks asking WTF.

Aside from that and 2 FoK on Sarth Tenebron adds when goin to the portals is pretty good too.

I cant say other wise if it helped dps anywhere else as I switched to Mut for the first time last night to try it out. And its a little funner then combat IMO but until I get the rotation down pat and remember to keep HfB during downtime I've dropped about 200 dps on boss fights as a general rule.

I haven't played around with it in PvE yet, but I'm loving it in PvP. Mainly due to the fact that enemy rogues spam it when I vanish on them, resulting in them going out of energy as I open up with a garotte.

The only thing that bugs me about the ability is the tooltip. I still don't like the idea that you throw "both" your weapons at "all enemy targets within 10 yards". Just doesn't make sense.

My friend fierymoon ran a dungeon today and said she loved it. I got to see her use it as she wanted to see how fast she could clear vc by just purely doing FOK. Was pretty cool to look at. Looks like it poisons them as well. :D noooiiiice

The improved damage with daggers is nice and with no stupid CD it makes Rogues a little more useful on certain trash pulls (like those retarded little spider pats in the Arachnid Quarter of Naxx). It's still not that useful even when that's ALL you're doing (because trying to white damage those little spiders is pointless and annoying). It's certainly a lot better than it used to be at any rate, but I'll still probably never really use it.

To the poster above, Fan of Knives has always had a chance to proc poisons. I suppose depending on the number of targets, your poison choices, and your talents it can be a nice little padding on your DPS during AoE pulls, but it's an additional effect that isn't as good as it first sounds.

I never personally use Feint unless I'm getting high on Threat and Vanish is down or can't be used (and if I do have to use it I question why the tank is losing threat to me in the first place). If you have threat issues it's probably a better idea to use TotT on the tank and go ******* for a few seconds, but if the tank is that bad you're probably going to 1) not change anything or 2) pull hate again almost immediately. I guess the new reduced AoE effect might be useful in some situations if you're specced deep into Sub, but it's always going to be a better idea to just move out of AoE range anyway instead of sitting there and trying to absorb it.

One example does come to mind though: during the Skadi fight when he decides to Whirlwind towards you and your tank isn't smart enough to taunt him. The new Feint effect might shave off enough damage to help you get out of range alive. I still can't stand the fight period, but that's a different thread all together.

I used fan of knives last night in naxx. Hit 13k-6k dps becasue of it. With focused attacks firing off on crits and overkill reducing energy cost for a bit i aoed about 5 times before going out of energy (ooe?)

As for feint, it helped on the grobbulus fight when he spawned an add on the MT and the OT ha mutant inject so i was getting hit for 300 instead of 600 for a bit which kept me alive at the end of the whole fight with 2k hp left. One shot!

The new changes are fantastic. No cooldown, daggers do more damage... It's practically spammable on large groups as Mutilate spec because of Focused Attacks. Every crit gives back 2 energy, so it's possible to have 20+ energy refunded. I usually just auto-attack one mob to get more energy procs.

Yeah it's basically the best thing since sliced bread. I think my highest dps on one trash pull peaked around 14k. It makes me want to try an Overkill/Arush/blade flurry double slow fist spec just to milk the absolutely ******* retarded potential of it.

Only time I wasn't top damage/dps on aoe pulls was when someone PI'd a decked lock.

It's very handy now in PvP, it can be spammed to kill a Mages triplets, DK's army of dead, the bloodworms & snake pets, to knock others out of stealth, the list goes on, it's great!
