It's because warriors suck so much in crappy gear, while most classes can manage with crappy gear, that the statement 'scale the best with gear' comes from. IMHO.

thats true, but i dont think thats how most people see it. i know several of my friends are using the whole "wait until you get epics" argument, which i promptly counter with "but im getting destroyed by classes in blues...so what makes you think when both of our classes are in epics ill do any better?"
that i think is the crux of it. your view of it is correct too; warriors do get a lot more fun to play in epics than in greens. but its also true that every class scales very well with better gear now.
