Is it possible and/or feasible to macro so that you can select the main tank hit a tricks macro to put tricks on him then automatically switch to targeting their target for attack and/or automatically ambush?

You would have to set you tank as a focus, just by selecting him and typing into console: /focus

Your macro would be

#showtooltip Tricks of the Trade
/cast [target=focus] Tricks of the Trade
/target focustarget

That last line I'm not too sure about, but test it out.

Also, you can't really macro two abilities that initiate the global cooldown together, Like TotT and ambush.

Besides, ambush is for girls.

You don't need the last line, but that is the focus macro for it.

And you don't have to always put it on the tank. :) If you're bored and want to have some fun with another DPS Tricks them and watch the fun. }:)

Thanks I'm not actually spec'd for instancing so ambush is about the most damage i can do as an opening attack. I'll take it there is no way to include a delay into a macro to bypass global cd's i know in FFXI we could actually just macro in /wait ### to include multiple ability that required time between them.

That's what I use. As soon as the tank runs in and the mob turns to the tank, you use this macro.

It casts ToTT on your targets, target. Which if you have the mob targeted, is your mt. Then you just open up with the usual, garrote>snd>mutilate or whatever spec you are. That little bit of damage in those 6 seconds, along with the threat output of tanks in wotlk is all you need. Also, if you have no target, this macro makes it so your cursor lights up blue, and you just click on the persons unitframe that you want to cast tott on.

I personally have 2 seperate ToTT macros. This one, which I use 99% of the time and in instances. And a 2nd one that I use for arena, or rarely in heroics. It's /target "name" /cast tricks of the trade. Works great in arena.

If you have multiple rogues in your group, and are tricking each other, the 2nd macro works better where you actually include his name.
