I gained 10k armor with today's patch. Now that's a happy bear!

How are things for my fellow druids?

I can't wait to go home and find out.

I have several pieces of new gear waiting for me in my bags. I have armor rings, neck and a bonus armor cloak so I am not as optimistic about an armor boost. But with new gear my health, dodge and threat should see a nice jump.

I was totaly going to make this thread asking about what people have seen, you beat me to it as I am sure it is on the minds of all feral druids right about now.

Ditto - dodge and health seem to be about the same, no change to kitty stats that I've been able to see.

The AP of everything can now be show - the walrus man fishing rod gives around 1800+ AP in feral form LOL.

So happy that the patch has finally gone through. Really feel like I have been in limbo with my tanking gear. Now I can really look at it properly. Also fantastic that if I am DPS'ing and have to switch quickly to tanking, I have almost as much armor as in my full bear gear! Really makes us more flexible again.

i wish i was like ya'll sadly i lost 4.4k armor today. then i changed gear and droped down to 33.3k armor i was up to 38.8k armor buff free or self buffed i cant remember wich it was. i know i was raid buffed with a 800 armor pot on and hit 42k armor lol. but i did take my buff free dodge up to 37% i think it is and took my hp up a bit more to 32k.

WOW!

If you were raid buffed up to 42k armor then I take it that you're head to toe in top line epics?

My armor went up 5k. Self-buffed at 33k. Unreal. I was certain I'd lose armor since I have a fair amount on rings and trinkets.

I believe it's now time for myself to start building a tanking set. All this talk of outrageous HP and armor makes me really want to get a full feral tank set.

eh mostly epiced cept maybe bracers had the 550 armor trinket the 850 armor trinket 630 armor on staff 489armor on cloak i think it was and 350 on neck item plus all the norm leather. too bad i droped all but 1 ring and the 850 armor trinket just cause i cant find better stats/clicky to fill the slots yet.

@punkspider: i feel your pain... i lost about 4.5k too.... i think this isnt really fair. what are top-epics good for if they dont let you stand above others (gearwise)...

I'm in love with my bear again. I love the fix in armor I once again can say druid are near the top for pve if not at the top. I will actually be dangers to prot pally in my bear form, Yahoo!! Oh happy day.

With a drop big, did you have Defenders Code? If so, then that one pieces was the difference between you and the rest of the pack. You would have lost almost 4k just from that trinket. This is exactly why they made the change. Those with the trinket were OP and all those without were balanced or those with the trinket were balanced and those without were underpowered.

A single item should not make that much of a difference - although I would have loved to have had it pre-patch :)

Since I had 26k armor going in, with armor on my neck and rings, I thought I would lose some armor overall. Instead I was happy to see my armor boost to 32k. I changed out my necklace for an epic one with better avoidance stats, but have yet to upgrade my rings. I'm very happy; my armor felt so low before I was thinking of trading in my epic staff for a blue. Now I'm quite content.

The main issues here were the Offering of Sacrifice (550AR) and Defender's Code (850AR). AT least with the rings you had 7 rings between 390 and 490 armor, so you weren't so reliant on getting lucky on drops like you had to be for the trinket. You could go for ages with out seeing Defender's Cose drop and be gimped compared to other druids because of it - 850 x the old multiplier is a massive amount of armor to be missing out on.

eh i think the big problem wasnt the items. i think the big problem was they still have other raids to release and we was already almost armor caped. It left no room to upgrade your armor all you would get would be stats. sure you could get higher armor on other items and drop your trinkets/rings but really wouldnt be that big of a deal. on another note this may have something to do with it also. Anyone notice when you mouse over your armor it no longer says damage reduced by x% on (your)lvl mobs?? now it just says physical damage reduced by x%. no lvl there so i think they may have gotten rid of the diminishing returns for mobs over your lvl added it to our dodge and since armor was so big they had to gimp it down some. any ideas on that??

side note anyone know of a formula that tells when to stop stacking agi and shoot for dodge rateing since each have they're own diminishing returns?? not sure if there is a prime number yet but figure worth a try.

EDIT: yes i did have defenders code. and i am highly disapointed people who aint in 25 mans can get just about the same armor as i can being in 25 mans. seeing all epics are within 10-20 armor of each other, and blues aint far behind on some slots.

I am highly disappointed by the fact that there are very few people who haven't done at least a few 25mans. I could join PuG's every day of the week just by sitting in Dalaran and waiting to see LFM's in trade chat. Badly geared, badly prepared, bad players are getting carried through 25 mans easily. Hopefully the next raid zone will be a step up and require most of the group to be fully decked out in 10/25man epics to have a chance.

I must admit, its nice that I can look at armor now for its stats rather than its bonus armor. I remember more than a few times through BC leveling I'd turn down a superior piece in stats because I couldn't afford the major loss in armor.

Now most of us get an armor boost and can now gear like all the other tanking classes...looking mainly at stats and not be so finicky about armor numbers.

i hear ya rarebeast and sadly its not just pugs it's my guild that does that cause we dont get enough geared people and we are a casual raiding guild. so once you hit 80 if we are hurting on people you get in.

Ehh armor is a stat and now you have to look at it more on your leather pieces since it's the only items giveing a bost. i mean its not like we had much to look for agi sta armor. No deff to get uncritable. or in bc very little deff or resil wich pvp stuff was great and easy to get so that took care of what resil you needed for crits then crushes most had to do was pass on a few sta agi to pick up more armor if you felt you needed it. eather way i didnt think it was that hard to balance compared to trying to get uncritable/uncrushable on my pally i had him to 70 got him geared and ready then lvled my druid and was amazed on how fricken easy it was to gear up and be ready for kara. even getting ready for 10 naxx it's easy shoot i went way under armor min for naxx. I was 33kish buff free hp about 36%ish dodge and a big 19k armor. Healers had no prob keeping me up. We had more problems with dps keeping up to not hit enrages on patch than keeping me up mting or oting.
