Hit Rating strugglingFollow

My guild just started raiding Naxx10 this month and I am very happy with my new "phat lootz" but the problem I seem to be having with all my new gear is a suffering hit rating.

Going in to I was very close to being hit capped and WWS (WoW Web Stats) showed only one miss my entire raid, but since then all the new gear I have been getting in Naxx has haste rating mostyl, and lacks the hit rating I need. I have tried the new gear just to do some comparing between giving up the hit for more haste, crit, and so on, but my missing rating fell to almost 6-7 percent.

Is this something I am going to have to deal with, or will the hit come back with more raid gear?

You can try as much as you can to supplement it, hit food, hit gems and maybe a hit enchant where possible.
Other than that there's not much else I can think of.

Assuming you're a BM Hunter, sacrificing hit for haste generally isn't worth it. However, there are a few pieces of Heroic loot that have a lot of hit on them. The Sovereign's Belt from heroic UP has a whopping 43 hit, and you can stick a hit gem into it if need be. There's also a trinket (Sphere of Red Dragon's Blood) that drops from the last boss of heroic Nexus.

In addition, you may want to consider dual-wielding and enchanting both your weapons with Accuracy, although this is a very expensive enchant.

Titanium Weapon Chains aren't a horrible option either, for the +hit, and you can double those up on a dual-wield option. Also, although the ebon blade head enchant is highly sought after, going back to the old Cenarion Expedition head enchant recovers some +hit.

Titanium chains, like Sketso mentioned, are a great way to increase hit rating without killing you gold supply. I hate to say this, but at level 80 I was still using Savage Cobalt Slicers: they were awesome for the hit rating and agi/AP. They normally don't cost too much and the link is below.

Unlike what Zero said, I do not think ANY hunter build should sacrifice hit rating. It's that good. Cap it, love it. It affects your pet and you. It is full of W.I.N. If you have to, gem for it. Don't worry about achieving socket bonus' on items. It's like my raid leader once said...

"If you are alive you are at least doing x% DPS, if you are dead you are doing 0%."

Apply that to hit rating...

"If you have 5% hit with 2500dps, you are doing 0dps for 3% of the time."

If you were leveling I would say don't worry about hit as much, but if you are raiding- get it.

a word of warning about the Savage Cobalt Slicers.
They are being heavily nerfed in 3.08.

I said that sacrificing hit for haste generally wasn't worth it, because the OP said "gear [he] have been getting in Naxx has haste rating mostyl, and lacks the hit rating I need." Obviously if you're gaining something like 55 haste and losing 1 hit, it's worth it. Granted, that is an extreme example.

The stat priority, for BM Hunters, is something along the lines of Hit (until capped) > AP > Agi > Crit > ArP > Haste.

Just keep in mind that for a BM Hunter, Haste is a pretty cruddy stat. It only benefits one of your primary dps methods (namely, your auto-shots). Hit, on the other hand, benefits your autos, steadies, and your pet.

Analogy of swapping hit for haste:

Now you can miss x% faster.
