So maybe one person on this board can tell you what my first toon was. For those of you not in the know, it was an Undead Mage.

I leveled him to 60 back in the day and subsequently rerolled a Human Mage as my friends were all playing Alliance. So I deleted the Undead and played the Human for years. All the way through vanilla WoW raiding into level 70 years.

Then I rerolled Warlock.

Granted I leveled a ton of alts to the cap in that time frame. Hunter, Priest, Paladin, Shaman, and a 62 rogue. But the warlock was my new main. I raided all the way through BT with him in TBC, got a nice set of gear to boot. /wave Anobix, he is now a guildmate of mine.

Fast forward to current day. I am serving a year long tour in Iraq, my playime on WoW is very limited and I have managed to claw my way to level 74. I was slowly losing my love of the warlock though. I began a debate with myself. Should I take the warlock to the cap? Should I switch to the 62 Rogue? I wanna play my Mage but I hate Alliance. Maybe I should roll a Death Knight. Damnit, what should I do?

Then when I was laying in my bunk last night it hit me, like a fuggin baseball bat.

I could reroll a Horde Mage! Again!

Why not? I did it once before.

After some long hard consideration, I decided to go for it. My biggest obstacle now is naming him. I like my human mages name, but as I run two account on the same server, I'd have to transfer him off, which I may do, but before that happens I wanted to ask you guys for suggestions. No place better than my fellow nukers of Allakhazam.

So once a name is established, I will be chronicling my leveling, in all of its slowly painful glory. 1k latency is blazing fast here, and still miserable. The greatest mage post ever may yet be taken back over by a mage!

BEHOLD, I AM FILTERSPAWN, AND I AM REBORN!

and the only person you know to roll 3 mages to level cap, **** I just can't stay away from this class.

Sorry I left you guys, it won't happen again.

You could if he built a time machine and went back in time to bone your mom.

Still don't need a time machine right now.

Why don't you name him somthing really super 1337 like IpwnU or BurnUdown or FrostsKillz, those are really unique and nobody has names like that.

Ok, enough ranting about people with stupid names.

It's kind hard to "help" someone name their toon. I know some people have names picked out way in advance. I personally just make crap up as a go. Named my mage Jubie because my friends were talking about Ninja Scroll. I truly believe that if you stare at the name box when you make a toon, something will come to you.

But if you use noob speak I will personally roll opposite faction on your server and make sure you don't get past lvl 1 :)

and Kyrin.... where at in Colorado?

Yeah I try to be somewhat original as well. My toon names are:

Memnok - Human Mage
Kelyna - NE Hunter
Cymek - UD Rogue
Azryek - UD Warlock
Keve - Dwarf Priest
Kaeden - NE Rogue
Kalgrok - Tauren Warrior
Tyrius - Draenei Warrior
Talwen - NE Hunter
and once again Memnok - UD Mage.

Before you ask the classes I have doubles of are all like level 20 or lower at least one of them I mean.

So yeah I transferred the human mage and in order to jack my own name.

Feel free to roll opposing faction though, I still have other toons on both factions Smiley: sly

Way back in the early years of Middle-Earth (yeah, I know this isn't Lord of the Rings ... but I love the way Tolkien names his characters), 3 Istari (wizards) were originally sent to do work there. When they landed at Grey Havens, they immediately set out east (on some or other mission - I'm yet to find out what). ONly one returned - Saruman the White.

The other 2 (Alator the Blue and Pallando the Blue) never returned (again - I have no idea what the real reason was).

Alator has returned in the form of a Blood Elf Mage on Kul Tiras (EU) (heh, yeah - he's my toon) ..

Pallando would be a fitting name for your mage - he disappeared on a mission of sorts to the east (which, by all accounts, was probably quite hectic, dark and evil ... kinda like playing a 'lock) ... and now he's back ;-)

Just a thought ... use it ... don't use it - up to you.

I can't give you a name, but I can give you a tip;

Make up a small background for your character and decide what 'ring' you want it to have. For example: My priest is an "always look on the bright side of life" "shiny" healer, so I went with Bellu Sunstream. Can you feel the heat and carelesness gushing over you? My rogue has a sharp edge but fights extremely streamlined, therefore I went with 'Razom', which has a sharp but smooth ring (and is part of my real nickname Mozared spelled backwards). My 'evil' warlock is named Maladan (streamlined, mysterious but evil), my Troll bat rider Dun'lin and my noble Blood Elf paladin Lanathas.

See what works for you. Is your character an "Fireball in your face bro" tough guy or a mysterious arcane specced figure? How would he look upon the world? Does he lean towards evil, good, or is he purely neutral? Those are the questions I ask myself when I have to conjure up a name.

Edit: Also, before I forget, say the name out loud. If you can't pronounce it or it doesn't sound like a word that could really exist (even in another language), it's generally a bad name.

Ah. Grand Junction here. I've found so many people in the Denver/Boulder area and some in the Springs. Nobody on the western slope though.

Thanks for the suggestions folks. I got my name from transferring my Alliance Mage off the server in case no one caught that a few posts back.

Memnok is reborn.

Free rateups for whoever figures out where I got it from and why it fits a mage. Been using it for years.

Hmm, no idea ... but there are a fair number of mages around with that name, so there's obviously a solid association there.

Good name though ... I approve :D
