My unholy spec and glyphs post patchFollow

#1 Jan 15 2009 at 9:00 AM Rating: Decent
Normally I use wowhead's talent calculator, but mmo-champion's allows me to show you what glyphs I will be using as well. So INC MMO-champ.

Post-patch spec

Compare that to my spec now

Gargoyle went from owning in both pve and pvp to being pretty decent in pvp, but only ok in pve. I don't actually spam plague strike enough to make me feel bad about losing outbreak (since pest is being taken off it). Night of the dead coupled with the glyph removing the reagent will mean 100% up-time on ghoul without spending a fortune on reagents, plus the spell avoidance. I am slightly concerned with losing wandering plague, but I THINK necrosis should make up for it, we'll see.

Might I suggest replacing the Glyph of Blood Strike with the Bone Shield Glyph. Having two extra charges will allow you to enjoy the extra damage longer and take less aoe damage.

There's no point unless you're tanking.

You should never have Bone Shield down if you're DPSing.

Are they changing the glyph of Scourge Strike?

Are they? I haven't heard any changes to it. The reason I don't use it is because it doesn't refresh ebon plague when it refreshes the other diseases.

I have seen it refresh all 3. It lead to a awkward moment in Naxx. In my defense, I had just changed glyphs right before the raid. I knew I wanted the SS glyph, but forgot why.

"Hey, who is refreshing diseases?"
"Silence..."
"Seriously, this is awesome. But who is refreshing them"
"Ah crap it was me"

It was baffling to me at first. All 3 diseases had the same duration.

Maybe they fixed it then, I dunno. I don't really need it though, I'm happy with the glyphs I chose.

And I've been thinking...

I'm wondering if I really need dirge. You really WANT dirge right now because you need to get your RP all the way up to 60 in order to use UB. However they're reducing the cost of UB from 60 to 40 and it makes me wonder if I REALLY need the extra 5 RP from SS/PS. If I don't take dirge, I could take both gargoyle AND corpse explosion (which they are buffing). I could also then switch my PS glyph for an IT glyph and miss dirge even less. Maybe end up with something looking like this

i'm not sure about RP, but i do know that glyph of SS does all 3 diseases.

For dps this is nice because it lets you continue the SS spam, it helps quite a bit with dps. it will keep ebon plaguebringer up too (however the duration is the same as your diseases/18s, not the 21 or 24 it normally is).
i use it for DPSing and Tanking, it helps with rotations greatly.

its awesome when the glyph procs then you only need to drop a blood rune to get them all up again, instead of wasting 2 GCDs and 2 runes to bring them up (i understand that SS uses 2 runes and a gcd, however i'm talking about when it procs during your normal SS rotation)
