Yo, been a while since i asked a question here. Been BM for a long time, switched to MM a week ago or so to get a feel for the spec before 3.0.8 hits us. Tried a CC/pvpish spec, was fun and full of utility, volley dps was insane due to talents. However after talking with another very good hunter i know who has always been MM i revised my talents a little to this
http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=ctbMzZ0eAbRhzMeoghqox00b

This seems to have more single target dps and seems like it would be a very solid MM build. Our guild only raids with 2 hunters. Our class leader and me, he is SV for now and we are very close in gear and skill level. Our dps he is always very close and we are usually top 5 for every fight and top 3 or so overall. Guild has finished 25naxx, 25 Maly is our next goal.

Here is my armory, http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Draka&n=Hydrophobia Have a cryptfiends bite waiting till they fix it. I know i need better rings and trinket. Would like t7 or t7.5 gloves. Anything else anyone sees i would be grateful for your insight.

*edit* i have the spelling skills of a 3 year old, fixed most.

I think you should go 1/19/51 or something alike.
Because that looks to be the best dps spec by far.

I thought about that Aethien, however we have some very heavy hitting melee in our raid party. Would my personal boost to dps be enough to lose the Trueshot Aura to the raid?

DK's give Abominable might, enh shamans can give the same buff.
speccing MM for TSA is (in my opinion) just not worth it.

Especially not since the dps difference between BM/MM ad SV on PTR right now is like 500 dps.
edit: that's in 25 mans and assuming you can trap dance, but most fights that'll be doable anyway.

Aethien, how significant is the one point in Imp. AotH over a filler MM/SV talent? It seems that the only reason that YOU would pick it is if it was a substantial increase in DPS.

If i may put my 2 cents in... From someone who has played MM 99% of my hunter life

That build you have there is very sweet. has great dps output against single targets as you mentioned. But there lies the problem... Pre Wotlk i really started to hate my hunter wityh a pssion because while i put out nice dps in raid i would get utterly raped by alliance... if you play on a non pvp realm then that build is sweet but i believe the best realms are pvp and to be honest with that build you would be dominated in a 1v1... if it doesnt bother you to get ganked easily or your on a non pvp realm then go for that build but silencing shot for me as a MM on a pvp realm is like water to a human... mages, locks, preasts, pallies, shamans etc etc etc will have nothing stopping them from gutting you open. 2 points (silencing shot and rediness) can make all the difference in a pvp situation agaionst casters. there is nothing worse for a caster to recieve chimera, aimed, arcane, silence only to have the uhnter ready to go for another punishing round thats to rediness...

As for boss fights though two thumbs up... my build on the other hand is a little more utility. Allows me to go to find some worms, sting 6 or 7 of them and the volley it down loosing only 25% health but using no mana, farming meat faster and allows you to be soooooooo lazy... it also puts me on overall dps in 1st place in all 25 mans i go to simply because i dont have to recast volley every hit...

My 2 cents :)

1 point + glyph = 9% haste on proc.
It just helps bridge the gap to steady haste cap, and there's not much other glyphs worth using.

Thanks for the replies. When the patch hits I may try SV to see how we do. And Ssjadpanthur, I could give a rats *** about pvp, I am in a progression guild on a pve server. Even when I am farming elementals in WG it still isn't very often I meet an ally who will kill me.

Not to mention that thinking about PvP when you're building a PvE build is a recipe for failure.
