druid weapon helpFollow

I just found a really good fist weapon and went to a weapon trainer to 2 get the training, then went to the AH and bought 1 for my offhand but found out he doesn't have duel wielding. Is there anywhere a druid can get this ability? The weapon I found says main hand and the one i bought at AH says one-hand. My druid is lvl 72. Thanks for helping in advance. Also does anyone know why there is a shield symbol for the off-hand yet the character can't use a shield?

To the OP:

I will offer some alternative help:

- If you say a fist weapon is good for you, that means you must be a feral druid, since stats on fist weapons are melee-oriented.
- If you are feral, you will at the moment be better off using a staff, since there are a lot of staves at this moment that gives a HUGE boost to your AP ("increases your attack power by X when in Cat form or Dire bear form"). This will always be better than a fist weapon + offhand.
- After the next patch hits, this AP on staves will be removed and there will be a LOT of weapons that give a feral druid additional attack power, depending on the DPS of the weapon wielded. The "depending on the DPS" part will mean that you will always be looking for a high dps two handed weapon, since twohanders are generally higher dps than onehanders.

To sum it up:

- You can not dual wield weapons, as said byt the poster above.
- If you are feral, you will at the moment be better off with a +feralAP staff and in a little while with a high dps twohanded weapon.

I am sorry to tell this to you: the really good fist weapon will not serve you well as a feral and the offhand... put it back in the AH.

You should never (until next patch, we'll see) ever have anything other than a staff or 2H mace with +feral attack power on it when feral specced. Sorry, that's just the way it is.

Depending on your level a staff or 2h mace may not be possible. Feral AP staves start around 60? If the choice at low level is between a 1h with useful stats and a 2h that is either horribly expensive or only semi-useful I'd go with the 1h. If you can find a held item of stamina or something it will suffice. if you're fighting mobs of your level as feral you can do w/o a weapon to be completely honest. Leveling is all about "just enough to get by" as by the time you earn enough to buy a shiny new piece of gear there is something better for just a bit more.

Since you're 72 I'm going to agree with the above post and say you need a weapon that provides feral AP; which until the next patch is a staff or a 2h mace.

The same reason your trinket slots look like earrings yet nobody would wear a fireball or playing card from their earlobe.

I used a shovel for a long time. Way longer than I should have but nothing dropped for me and I didn't want to spend big on the AH.

I needed the weapon when I bought it in the low 30s but by the time I replaced, I had it for 10 levels easily, it was in dire need of replacement.

There is just a weak selection of druid weapons until you get into higher levels. So don't be afraid to go 1H + off hand.

edit: The OP should definitely get a FAP weapon.

The lowest level FAP weapon is the Angerstaff . So until level 57 you don't have a lot of options with regards to weapons. Of course the next patch changes all this, which will of course be awesome and full of win.

Wow thanks for all of your great advise. It was much appreciated. My druid is is actually balance not feral, and I do find that the staff is the best weapon, but just wanted to try something a little different. I was frustrated that he wasn't able to use the fist weapon, but I am aware the staff is the best way to go. Again thanks a lot for taking the time out to assist me.

Well, I've never specced as boomkin, you might be in luck with a good one hand mace and a held in off hand. Not 100% what the best way for boomkins to roll in terms of weapons, sry.

If you go with a staff you'll have lesser spell damage but higher stats like int/stam/spirit. If you roll with a one handed mace or dagger and a caster off hand you'll net more spell power but lesser stats like int/stam/spirit.

Usually most people go with one hand mace/off hand for an increase in other stats like hit and crit.

Edit: Forgot... To the OP: Staff is not necessarily always the best way to go. Once you hit 80 you'll find a majority of the time you'll be using a one hander and an off hand.
