DW vs 2h...Follow

#1 Jan 13 2009 at 8:08 PM Rating: Decent
Would it be better as a current Blood spec (with side spec of unholy)to be using a 2h Weapon or 2 1h's?

Personally i like Dual wield, but it seems with the Death knight since a lot of the abilities (ex. Any strike in the book)it bases the final dmg of the attack off of the weapon dmg. If that is the case wouldn't it be be better to get a 2 handed weapon for the most damage from the strike.

Does it count both weapon or Just the main hand? (i do like dual wield though so that you can put 2 diff rune forges on them, or just stack the enchants)but if that means overall lower damage from abilities, is it really worth it?

Btw im thinking of re-speccing to unholy(although i think using blood aura+frost presence is a decent combo) since DRW isn't that great of a talent ult imo. i think that unholy blight would be better overall along with other abilities, although i think that unholy aura is kinda useless but thats just me.

If Anyone has any help/Suggestions/good builds/hybrids it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

The only good DW specs involve 30+ points in Frost for HB and 30+ points in Unholy.

Yes, 2H is better than Dual-Wield for Blood.

Blood is driven off weapon strikes from Heart Strike and Obliterate.

DRW is getting buffed to match our damage better; it's an enormous damage increase that you shouldnt pass up for boss fights. Bear in mind that as Blood, around 80% of your DPS is Physical from Strikes and autoattack; DRW will therefore increase your damage to 180% of normal for its duration, thats very close to Recklessness for Warriors.

Before you spec Unholy, bear in mind that Gargoyle (the former DRW-beater) is getting nerfed quite considerably soon, since it was doing as much damage by itself as some lvl70 players.
