Questions About Magic ResistanceFollow

#1 Jan 13 2009 at 5:23 AM Rating: Decent
I haven't seen much information posted on this subject and would really like everyone's thoughts. Obviously a lot of gear has various magic resistances (+30 nature, etc.) but based on ah prices they don't seem to be very popular. I can see where certain gear might have value in particular situations, but is it worth the tradeoff for the reduction in other stats? How much resistance is required to make a significant difference? If I have +50 frost resistance, what does that give in terms of damage reduction? You can mouse over the various resistances and see a generic indicator of resistance like "none", "poor", etc., but is there any numeric information readily available?

Based on the lack of discussion on this topic, I suspect it's best to focus on more health, spell reflect, etc. to mitigate casters, but would really appreciate some input.

I think that it has to do that when your are in a group or a raid people can put nice resistances on you with just a click of a button.

For example in HOL that last boss deals a lot of nature damage on all the party. So having a hunter or a shammy buff you with some resistances is the easy way of avoiding buying magic resistance gear...so prices on AH drop.
