Tracking Savage Roar/Mangle/RakeFollow

I'm not sure if this subject has come up before as I don't recall seeing any posts on it so here goes.

When raiding my guild wants be to go as kitty. My problem is while in a fight I have trouble keeping Savage Roar up. I can keep Mangle and Rake up without a problem because I watch the boss frame for that and combo points. I'm also keeping an eye on my energy so I know when to pop Tiger Fury. Anyone have any suggestions on an easier way to track when and how long SR has to tick? It there an addon that will help with this? It wouldn't be so bad if the buff icon was alway in the same place, but its not. At least for me anyway. Thanks for any suggestions.

Check out DoTimer, will give you an Elkano's Buff Bars style movable group of progressive bars that will track whatever you want it to; buffs on yourself, debuffs on target, etc. Can even show a mouseover set of bars if you have multiple targets. It's pretty cool.

Agreed. Here's my UI, that's how I see my SR and combo points: http://wow.uiscreens.com/fullsize.php?ssid=846 (SpartanUI + IceHUD)

I used to use a similar bar for mob debuffs, but find that looking at the debuffs as Spartan UI places them works for me.

Try ClassTimer!

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll have to give each of them a try and see which works best for me.

JeeBar, that interface looks pretty cool. Have you had any problems with it and any addon's? I looks on the website for the program and didn't see anything suggesting issues. Ones I use and wouldn't what to lose are Outfitter and Deadly Boss Mods.

I use Power Auras. It's very customizable and allows you to see buff/debuffs and much more directly on your character with an "aura" (picture) of your choice.

Thanks, Lastar, I'm pretty proud of it. I like to think that if my skills were as good as my UI I'd be set. SpartanUI does most of the work, I friggin' love how it cleans up my whole screen. When I'm out of combat the HUD and buffbars go away so I have a totally open screen. It's almost like BEING there -- except for the pixels, lag, and lack of a stench caused by a lack of indoor plumbing and sanitation.

I use a number of other addons beyond the key UI modifiers of SpartanUI and IceHUD: ArkInventory, Atlasloot, Auctioneer, Carbonite (the free/lightweight version), Deadly Boss Mods, Elkano BuffBars, RatingBuster, Recount (check out how it's sized to fit in an unused spartanUI box), and X-Perl for party and raid frames.

With all that mojo goin' on I just have one UI problem that is a minor inconvenience. Whenever I mount up on something that's considered a "vehicle," i.e. something that has it's action bar and makes mine go away, I get a popup error message that I need to click away. But that's not a big enough problem to bother trying to troubleshoot it. Frankly I haven't even read the error message, so it might be a simple fix.

That looks pretty slick, I'll have to try it out. The screenshot of it on Curse confuses me, though. There's WAY too much stuff goin' on there, some of it doesn't look related to buffs so I assume there's some other addon in play there, and if not then I assume you can cut down on the clutter and choose a less obnoxious font through some simple configuration. In any case, thanks for the recommendation.

By default, it does nothing at all. You have to add yourself the buffs and debuffs you wish to monitor, and what style of aura you want displayed for each.

I absolutely love it. No more wasting clearcasting, no more missing the void debuff in VH, etc :D

Sounds like me. :D

My wife keeps trying to configure me, but my UI is pretty tricky and buggy.

Dude, I'm in love. Abso-friggin-lutely fantastic addon.
I added three alert thingies:
- For mangle on my target, a marker that looks like red drops of blood
- Below my target, some green arrows signifying that Savage Roar is up
- A green glow effect smaller and right on me when OoC procs

As you can see, I sized and placed them so that in combination with my IceHUD display I have a perfect circle of informative combat goodness surrounding the fight. Friggin LOVE this! So much cooler than my old buff notifier bars, powered by Elkano, that you can see over to the left.

I haven't tried this new setup for an extended period of time so might find that it's annoying for some reason or another, but I'm confident with some combo of placement and transparency this will make me very happy. Thanks for turning me on to my new favorite (for now) addon. Rate the heck UP!

That does look cool. I downloaded Spartan UI, IceHUD, and DoTimer. I think I still need to do some twinking to get it right. Now I think I'll try the Power Auras.

One question Jeebar, on the previous link you posted there were dots on the screen which I assume represented combo points. Which addon is that part of and how do you set that up? All I saw last night was numbers 1, 2, ... I think the dots would stand out more.

I think the UI is great. All I need to do is config the bars a little more. I also want to figure a way to key bind my form shifting to special keys on my keyboard that I am not using yet. It's more a keyboard macro thing then a WoW thing.

Rate up JeeBar for the excellent suggestions of the UI and HUD.

That's one of the options within the Combo Points settings of of IceHUD.

Just a recommendation, but I've been very happy with keybinding my bear and cat shifting to macros that do key things that you frequently but only want to do in those forms.

Cat+Charge/Roar
- If in any form other than cat, shift into cat.
- If already in cat form, cast feral charge.
- I have it shift modified to pop me into travel form too.
/cast [noform:3,nomodifier] Cat Form; [form:3,nomodifier] Feral Charge - Cat; [modifier:shift] Savage Roar

Bear+Charge/Growl
- If in any form other than bear, shift into bear.
- If already in bear form, cast feral charge.
- Hold shift, cast growl
/cast [noform:1] Dire Bear Form(Shapeshift); [form:1] Feral Charge - Bear [modifier:shift] Growl

Awshux...thanks. I'm a design/marcom/web guy in RL, and I think I enjoy tweaking my WoW UI almost as much as playing the damn game sometimes.
