So i am wondering what comps are most of you guys are running. I've been on vacation for about a month will be back and playing in a couple of days, so i haven't seen what comps are being used. Though safe to guess probably DK/Rog, Ret/Rog. I'm probably gonna run Feral/Rog or Ret/Rog. And what comps do you guys see the most and have trouble with?

Mage/Rogue and dpriest/rogue(rogue sitting at 2k in my guild running this comp atm) are also feasible. Most of the problems come from Ret/DK or DK/Healadin.

Edits for teh grammar.

I just started running Rogue/Mage last night and lacking any PvP gear on my side I would say it ended very well. The sheer amount of CC that you can pull of to lock down a healer is very powerful right now. I am excited to see what it will look like when I get more PvP gear.

Well I don't even have the trinket to pop CCs that is what I mean. I lack anything purchasable by honor or arena points.

I run with a healadin here, me on 430 resilience and him on 502 as of yesterday.

We do alright at the moment, but hover strongly between 1650 and 1780. We've been having the most problems with hunter/shaman teams. Actually, hunter/anything is probably a pain, but so far all hunters we've met are paired with shamans. It's mainly the overpoweredness of hunters that screws us over; they throw a crapload of DPS on me while they mana drain my healadin buddy. We cannot LOS the hunter (we need to keep doing damage to win this) and the hunter cannot be CC'd (lolimmune). We do occasionally win against these teams, but only when we're lucky. Yesterday was probably the worst match I've had since WOTLK; we actually managed to OOM and kill the shaman and get to the point where it was me and my OOM healadin buddy (both 100% hp) against a 80% hp and 5% mana hunter. Guess who won? Right, the hunter. There was no way I could get near him at all and once again, lolimmune. On the other hand though, we could've won that; I wasted my CD's too early in the match and LOSsing the hunter might've been an option once the shaman went down.

Also, some double DPS teams still ***** us over. We can now deal with things like DK/retardin or DK/warrior, but mage/rogue is still simply sick. There is so much CC present that the only way to keep me alive is a preemptive bubble from my paladin during which I HAVE to kill one of the DPS. Which is always the rogue, since a mage simply Ice Blocks if it gets rough. And rogues are slippery enough as it is. At the moment, facing off against any rogue/mage team in the Orgrimmar arena is pretty much a guaranteed loss. Since there is no LOS around there, the mage just starts to ***** over my partner until eventually I HAVE to open up on him. At that point the rogue opens up on me, my healer gets polymorphed/counterspelled and I get killed.

You're playing the long game versus a hunter/shaman team. Knock down mana totems and keep the shaman in combat, and keep your paladin out of LOS.

In the 1600-1700s, a hunter is going to get impatient and try to get LOS on you. If the shaman isn't good, you can get a HoJ -> Blind on the shaman out of LOS of his hunter while you're tearing the hunter a new *******.

The main thing is to play a strong LOS game. Hunters are insanely easy if you stay on them. BM hunters should be cake for your setup; when he uses TBW, the shaman is going to pop Buttlust/Heroinism to maximize the DPS that the hunter can put out. You should be CloS/Vanishing at that point, and your paladin should be using bubble and LOSing.

At that point the shaman will probably try and sit down to drink, at which point you can sap him unless he's sitting in a flare (baddies usually don't keep flares down).

The object of this fight is to run them out of cooldowns (i.e. TBW/BL/Hero) so that you can control the fight.

If you can't stay on a survival or MM hunter, I don't know what to tell you, honestly.

I sit at 1600 with a retadin, and for 3's (ret war rogue) also 1600...

My partners aren't very good though, so it doesn't help. We try to toss a DK in the 3 instead of the war, but he is... yeah... our rating doesnt go up.

I've been trying to convince my mage friend to 2v with me, that seems to be the combo to go for.

The problem with that however is that it's nearly impossible to keep my paladin out of the LOS. If I'm hitting the shaman the shaman just makes sure he's in the hunters LOS meaning the hunter will be unloading on me. At that point my paladin needs to pop out and chain heal me to keep me alive. I'm just glad we haven't faced those teams in the Orgrimmar arena yet >.>

Thanks for the tips though, I had a feeling cooldowns would eventually be the factor making the difference. One thing; you're saying we ought to smack the hunter rather than the shaman, am I right?

Oh, aye, BM hunters. They're the ones immune to everything.

If you can stay on the hunter, he can't do DPS to you. The more he has to move, the less steady shots he can get off.

Paladins can essentially spam heal for hours. It's the strength of the class. If you really wanted to, you could probably just stick on the hunter outside of TBW/BL and your paladin could easily heal you through the pathetic damage you'd be taking. If your paladin can keep the shaman in combat and knock down mana totems, you'll win pretty easily.

Hell, the paladin will probably spend more time playing shockadin than actually healing you.

Just make sure you're playing as mut/prep.

Aye, I am. Thanks for the heads up, going to focus on that. We did try it before but I ended up being permanently kited trough a frost trap and dealing neligible damage while on him, so we figured hitting the shaman might be a better plan. But fair enough, we'll give this a good roll.
