Elite PetsFollow

I know this sounds pretty dumb but...

I was wondering if elite pets have more health then normal pets because I have a level 37 Raptor that I got from Wailing Caverns in the Barrens ( Instance ) and it has around 1820 health where as I saw a level 37 raptor with 1640 health. I asked my hunter friend if Elite Pets get more health and he said no. I say yes. Who's right?

Read the sticky, if you already have, read it again.

*edit* By sticky I mean the FAQ, which is titled "Every Question Answered Here"

It might actually be a good idea for the sticky to get a tiny upgrade.
It still lists "caster pets" as having inferiour stats, and as we all know, this is no longer the case.

starting off a post with, "I know this may sound dumb but...." is the real world equivalent of, "hold my beer and watch this"

He is right, you are wrong, please read the FAQ.
#12 Jan 15 2009 at 1:52 PM Rating: Good
Well the faq still mentions teaching pets with beast training, the pet training calculator is out of date, i dont believe we still use loyalty level to train pets, and it still mentions caster pets.
Not sure why noone wants to really answer your question...but i dont believe it makes a difference if they're elite or not. A wolf is a wolf no matter what kind you tame for example.

Any "elite" pets will tame as the standard of their class, i.e. a wolf is a wolf, a cat is a cat, etc. Some of the exotic pets, however, may have special skills associated with them, etc. Petopia is a great place to get a lot of that info as well.

Sorry for the rudeness of folks directing you to an out of date FAQ that could lead to some confusion... :)

Also, depending on what 'skills' you have elected to train your pet, their health may have been increased. If I recall, as I am not currently online, one of the first row skills increases stamina, which would increase the pets health.

A cat is a cat is a cat. . . and similarly for the other pet classes. Whatever differences you're seeing are the result of:
1. Different hunter talent points taken by each hunter will affect the pet's stats.
2. Different stats on armor and weaponry affect the pet as well as the hunter.
3. Different pet talent points
and probably more I can't think of at the moment.

So, no. Simply because it is "elite" does not inherently give it more stats. Your pet is more than likely stronger because of your stats.

Thanks. The first few replies were horrible, but the last 4 or 5 were much better =]

That's because your question is horrible and shows a lack of trying to find your own answer.
Which is what you should ALWAYS do.
Check the FAQ and see if it answers your questions... hell, do a google search.
9/10 times you'll have your answer and we wont have more stupid threads.
#19 Jan 19 2009 at 5:13 AM Rating: Decent
the point of a thread is to talk about the question. if you could always find it on google there would be no forums

Talk about what? About how your question is stupid an answered in the FAQ, and how you could have easily found the answer out yourself?

Yes you should definately check the Faq which is old, outdated, and no longer relevant in many ways.

That many of the old timers think abusing the newbies is going to help still surprises me. Answer their question and they'll come back. Feel free to link them to the FAQ so they learn to use it. Use sugar not vinegar.

To the person asking the question... the answers the nice and considerate people gave you concerning that pets in same family have or will have equivalent stats based on how you put points listen to them. The nasty people who tell you to find out on your own (which you are trying to do by asking) and to go to obselete stickies don't listen to them. I do not post often but I do read these forums and I find the rudeness on here to be unbelievable. :) Even after the 3rd post where it was said that the sticky was outdated and wrong people were still saying to read the sticky. LOL... when was the last time THEY read the sticky? To all of you who answered kindly and with helpfulness I Thank you on behalf of all of us who do read stickies, but they just don't answer the question quite right. To the rest of you.... pfffft!

Except its not outdated? This is one of the earliest pet questions that was ever asked, and the answer was always no.

Except that Cap was right and it still has stuff in there for caster pets. Do caster pets still exist? If no then the sticky is outdated, if yes then I stand corrected. All I'm saying is a little niceness goes along way. People do not have to be rude to other people who are just looking for answers. And like I also stated the sticky might not have answered the question totally and might have just given rise to more questions and confusion.
