Yo,
So DKs totally make my head spin. Actually anything other then a Hunter makes me feel naked (so use to having Tracks and knowing what is around me :x).
I'm in the need of a good-ish PvE build. I keep reading all about Blood spec, and after playing a DK to 65 as Blood Spec I still don't get what the Hype is all about.
So the other day I re-speced as unholy and it was a tad smoother.
The ghoul not being on a timer was nice and killing seem to go by smoother.
But then I started wondering if there was a good/better spec out there? I went and toyed with a Tree builder but not having an actual DK at the lvl(s) gives me no answers.
So I ask, is everyone just running around as Blood/Unholy? or is there a good hybrid of the trees that still works well and would be good for PvE?

I've been using a few variations of DW specs as I've been leveling and they don't seem to scale well when leveling and I've been reverting back to blood.
You'll find blood is a lot easier to use when you have rune strike at 70. Even at 72 my dk can crit RS for around 4500 with a blue quest axe. Besides, blood = soloing elites.

For granted my DK is only 65, but there hasn't been an elite quest that I haven't been able to solo as frost. I have dw'd and used an 2-hander. Both are fun. There isn't a right or wrong way to level but some will say some specs are more efficient then others. Personally I think all the dk specs have low down time. Just try different things out until you find something you like.
Up till the point where u are doing 3-5 man quests in Icecrown, no DK should ever need a group for quests. (xcept maybe Overlord in Hellfire :P or it just being a tad bit smoother if theres someone near anyway)
That said, i leveled my first DK from 55-80 straight, just frost, 2nd DK is now high 60's and leveled as both unholy and blood.
Tbh, theres no spec that overrules the rest.
Blood is great for soloing, the heals are very good, but from what i see the heals dont make up for the total lack of good AoE, IN MY OPINION :P
Unholy is great for aoeing and the pet really is helpfull :)
Frost is best of both worlds, but master of neither, you get sufficient ranged and AoE damage, alot of burst damage and survivability

I've been UH from the start and I have no problem doing pretty much whatever I want to. As for Blood=soloing elites, I soloed the Wanted:Ragemane Flipper quest in ZD pretty smoothly at 74. The Gods have Spoken and Prophet quest in ZD too. Granted I've never used Blood or Frost, but unholy has no problems doing what you needed to do. Also Im always #1 or 2 on the charts in instances. Im using a OT/DPS build right now This is me. Works pretty good for def or dps.
PvE tanking? PvE DPS? I have a ton of builds I have saved, but you have to tell me what you're going for rather than just saying PvE in general.
