Hi Ppl so far i have a lvl 36 druid that i have been getting str and stam gear for as feral. I have never played a caster before and need to know what i should collect as a back up healer set. Am i looking for leather gear with intellect and spirit ? or maybe cloth with the same or other stats?! In the healer role am i supposed to be able to survive aggro?. Sorry for the dumb questions but ive never done healing before except once at a young lvl i went to the stocks and they asked me to heal in my feral gear ...it went really bad. So if you can just kindly point out what stats and type leather or cloth i should get for a emerg healing set it would be appreciated. Im not interested in a respec just emerg healer if need be.

I found the stat answers in the druid 101 section , although no mention of cloth or leather. So i guess ill look for leather items with good stats

Leather's nice if you can get it, but you shouldn't be getting hit enough for the armor diff to matter, so equip cloth if the stats are superior.

Ok ill get cloth if it has better stats i was just worried that if i go to an instance , i may get one shotted by an elite mob or something. My leather gear at the moment has its armor in the 100's while the cloth stuff i get from quests (ive just been stashing it in the bank so far till i can figure it out) has an armor rating of 20' - early 40's

Either way you shouldn't be getting hit physically by any monster, so your armor means precious little. What can hurt you is AOE attacks which are oftentimes magic (thus ignoring armor), which means what matters is your health value (and by association, stamina); raiding often requires a minimum amount of health to be effectively survivable in the encounters faced, which sometimes requires you give up some of your caster stats in favor of a little more stamina (though I don't know if this is still the case in a post 3.0 world, the gear you get by the time you're 80 may be enough health anyway).

Either way it's not a terrible concern while leveling up, just improve the caster stats and the health will generally follow suit along with you.
