Yup, it hasn't stopped yet.

Latest changes from the PTR:

Ferocious Inspiration now also increase the damage of Arcane Shot by 3/6/9%

Survival
Lock and Load now has a 30 seconds cooldown.
Explosive shot damage has been slightly decreased and now deal {RAP*0.16+428}-{RAP*0.16+428} Fire damage at level 80. (Down from {RAP*0.18+476}-{RAP*0.18+476})

Marksmanship
Improved Stings now reduces the chance your Sting damage over time effects will be dispelled by 10/20/30%. (Old - Affected all stings)

Pet
Spirit Strike (Spirit Beast) damage has been decreased and now Burns the enemy for 49 to 65 Arcane damage and an additional 49 to 65 damage over 6 sec at max rank. (Down from 85 to 115)
Rake (Cat) damage has been increased, now deals 47-67 (Up from 24-34) bleed damage and an additional 19-25 (up from 10-24) damage over 9 seconds at max rank.
Scorpid Poison damage has been increased. (From 45 to 100 Nature damage over 10 sec for the last rank)


Because we needed more nerfs to PvP ><
(Both the LnL and the Viper change are nerfs that you'll feel in arena.)

FI change is neat though, might make arcane actually useful.

That stings change makes no sense at all except to stop QQing healers who have to dispel it...god forbid hunters actually use the tools they're given to pvp eh?

Well its ridiculous why they keep nerfing us as hunters.Melee class 5 or 6 wacks and were dead.

Spell casters feared us were running around cant shoot life drained in 5 secs.In bgs we should be able to kill just as fast as were being killed not having to pump 25-30 shots if not more into someone and kiting them half way across ther battle field. My stats # Damage: 1064 - 1286,# Power: 3114,# Hit Rating: 273,# Crit Chance: 26.54%

And I can rate you down too.

Now back on topic, the LnL change isn't a big hurt for PvE because we'll just trap every 30 seconds instead of every 24 and we wont have the random SS LnL every ~1 minute.

For PvP however, it reduces the little burst we have by a lot.
Why? because you really want resourcefulness +4pc PvP to get 22 sec cooldown traps to help you control the fight.
If you have that however, you can't get LnL more than once each 44 seconds.

And the Imp. Stings change means we wont be able to drain or disarm anymore vs any team that can disspell and arent morons.

When they reduce the mana cost of arcane shot and now the increased damage, not to mention it's instant cast, i'll have a reason to use it.

Since my cat is getting about a 10% (5% off two talents that increase his damage by 20%) damage nerf this will help make up for that, they have basically doubled the damage it deals, not to mention the reduced cooldown with longevity.

This is the first ray of light I've seen in a while. Not to mention the nerf to SS and MM will get people off my back insulting BM.

I really dont see this next set as a series of nerfs. I am not a pvp'er never have been. SV on the ptr was going to get hurt, anyone who has read about it knows that. It should still be a useful spec though and LIke you said you can still trap dance just will not have to as often.

The buff to cats rake has me happy. I still think that when it all goes live BM will be the lower dps of the specs. If ES gets hit too hard though we could see MM apear as the top dog. will have to wait and see.

On another note. Hunter pvp is so broken anyway it will take a miracle to bring us up online with some of the other classes. Right now though I am liking MM burst. Serpent sting, SS, Aimed, Arcane, Chimera is quite a bit in just a few seconds. If you can catch someone at range they have a large chunk of health missing now. Throw in scatter, silencing with readiness and traps and you can cause some mayhem. I know I have the most fun in WG just frustrating and upsetting people.

They should buff our buffing capabilities. Up ferocious inspiration to 5% also or something. I heard Hunter party is pretty good, but I assume a ret pally's replenishment overrides it.

You do realize that Mages, Rogues, Death Knights and Retribution paladins (for starters) can do more damage in less time, and more often than us.

Im happy to be honest. I never have liked the whole bm thing of "put your faith in your pet" bit... So i have been MM for some time and from what i can see is that the only nerf as a mm in pve is SS and volley... but honestly... if your using volley against boss there is something wrong. unless its adds. I expect a dps drop due to SS being nerfed but other than that my pet dps will increase and everything is the same... Nonetheless hunters were meant to top dps from the word go in wotlk and as other classes got geared we would slowly be brought back inline with every other class... I mean up until 25 naxx i had only been beaten in dps once in a heroic but now that everyone is geared im finding im about 2nd -3rd against bosses (still topping overall dps thx to volley - will be short lived). Overall i think hunters will become a slightly better than average dps in raids but not the best.

Not sure about pvp though... have to see how it rolls out.

I think that hunters are a lost cause for pvp. You have to be REALLY crafty to be of any use in the battlegrounds, and forget about arena. They may as well put a huge bullseye on hunters cuz thats what everyone goes after first. With DK's in the picture now, theres no point. Hunters tend to top the DPS meters in raids, which will soon end thanks to the DK's too. Warrior tanks are also now probably done since the threat generated by a DK is almost unparalleled. I like DK's, but they are allowing a class to both tank and top the DPS meters at the same time (FAIL). I still dont see why they are virtually eliminating what little ability hunters have in pvp with this new patch, and trying to knock the class back to the stone ages on DPS in PVE. I can also say that I have never been 2 & 3 shotted by a class before either. (hunter vs any melee class now= fail) There has got to be something that blizz can do to make hunters at least be able to take more of a beating than a caster. I can take more of a beating on my lvl 17 frost mage than i can my hunter which is pathetic, to say the least. If theyre gonna destroy hunters in PVP, then they should at least allow us to continue to run the DPS by a decent margin in PVE.

Erm... hunters arent useless in PVP. even against melee classes. I very rarely get beaten by a warrior - Very rarely. Traps, concussion and the glyph that gives you a short sprint every time you dodge gives you ample room to lay waste to warriors. DK's are harder but still possible... just need your trinket and jump back and rediness lets me rip into them even more. rogues are easy if you know they are there thanks to flares. if you dont know they are there then its game over. But pally's.... yea thats a joke. I doubt a hunter has ever been able to defeat a competant equally geared pally... its a joke... every weakness a hunter has is rolled into a pally. And im not even BM spec so if i can do it then a bm should theorhetically do better...

As for BG's i often top the charts for killing blows, highest dps... think about what your doing though, your not a rogue so dont wander off... stay with 2-3 other people and you will stay alive for ample time... pick your fights dont just rush in (unless they are capturing a gy/running flag/ capturing a key point etc)

And Arena? yea 5's is devistating because everything targets you first. However, in my 2's i have a rogue partner and we do ok... they go for me first but as long as its not a pally or 2 mages i can usually stand enough heat for us to start hitting back harder... But arena is still very unhunter friendly you just need a good partenr and good strat... just keep away from 5's coz your worth nothing lol

You need to keep BG's separated from Arena and "World" when talking PvP. The environments are totally different and all of the things that let Hunters excell in BG's and somewhat in "World" tend to work against us in Arena. I no longer play arena for this reason. We are just very hamstrung (pardon the pun) in such small areas that don't give us good firing zones or high ground.

Hunters are NOT bad at all PvP, we have our strengths and weaknesses like most classes. Some other classes are dominant at the moment but we'll get rotated back in there at some time.

PvP against the dominant classes will always put us at a disadvantage, this is normal. Sometimes your skill (or your opponents lack thereof) will overcome those differences, sometimes it takes a miracle or pure luck to overcome them.

Just know, going into PvP where we are strong and where you are going to be challenged by the class restrictions alone.
