* Aquatic Form is now available from druid trainers at level 16.
* Feral Attack Power: All weapons now have the potential to grant feral attack power based on their dps (as compared to the best superior-quality weapons available at level 60). Players will see their existing feral weapons grant roughly the same attack power as they did before (+/- 2 or so), but many new weapons will be options for the feral druid. Some feral weapons have had strength converted to attack power to be more appealing to other classes able to equip them. All druids will see the amount of feral attack power granted by an item in the item tooltip, if it grants any, but other players will not see that information.
* Remove Curse and Abolish Poison can now be used in Moonkin form.
* Genesis: Now works with Tranquility and Hurricane.
* Growl: Range increased to 30 yards.
* King of the Jungle - The Bear effect is now physical, and thus cannot be dispelled.
* Moonglow: This talent now also benefits Nourish.
* Nature's Grace - Now also effects Revive.
* Nourish: Wild Growth applied to a target now increases the healing done by this spell by 20% like other heal over time effects.
* Polearms: Now trainable by Druids.
* Primal Tenacity: Now reduces the cost of Bear Form, Cat Form, and Dire Bear Form by 17/33/50% in addition to its previous effects.
* Protector of the Pack: No longer changes value based on party size.
* Savage Roar: The buff now persists outside of Cat Form but only provides its benefits while in Cat Form.
* Starfall: Instead of canceling shapeshifting, now cancels on shapeshifting into an animal form.
* Survival of the Fittest: This talent now grants 22/44/66% bonus armor in Bear Form and Dire Bear Form in addition to all of its previous effects.
* Swipe: Swipe (Cat) has now been added at level 71, dealing 260% weapon damage, costs 50 energy with no cooldown. All talents affecting the Bear Form version affect the Cat Form one as well.
* Wild Growth now has a 6 second cooldown.

Wonder how long it will take until absolutely all class quests have disappeared. Nice to see though that somebody actually noticed that Nourish is rather weak.

I did not realize that nourish was weak. It seems pretty damned good to me, but then again, I am feral, so maybe it doesn't scale well. I'm happy with the rest of these changes, though. The aquatic form thing doesn't disappoint me as much as when I dinged 20 and was just handed Cat form. Seemed pretty crappy at the time, especially after the neat bear form quest, but aquatic and travel form, imo, aren't all that...central, I guess. It would be nice if they could all have cool quests for them, but I just don't care as much for aquatic and travel (yes, I know travel form is also bought, I'm just grouping it with aquatic).

I all ready want this. Both because it has nice stats and it will look badass when I am riding around in town.

Hmm, i dont like the way they are taking away lore to make the leveling easier...

Anyway
Polearms are neccesary, now that our maces and staves will be hunter / warrior / paladin / DK gear aswell...

Bah, blizzard should add more lore with next expansion, im not gonna like getting the emerald dream to fool around with, while eveyr bit of druidlore gets cracked...

It's not so much about making leveling easier.. it's about making leveling faster. I think Blizzard does have a big problem already when it comes to dragging new souls to the game. You're essentially looking at 70 levels of emptiness - lots of lore and content without anybody to share it with. Having to "waste" time on those class quests isn't helping, especially when you end up being sent all over the place to get them done.

Honestly I'm as sad about the lore disappearing from the game as the next guy/gal, but I'm not sorry to see this one go. I did it on my druid before I got questhelper... spent over an hour looking for the stupid 1/2 pendant off the coast of westfall. I found it rather frustrating...

it really made me appreciate aquatic form when I got it though :D

I couldn't agree more! My main is a rogue but I've recently started leveling a druid (and I love the class, could easily see it becoming a new main). And the lore aspect helps make the class even more special-- after the bear form quest I was hooked, and even a little disappointed that I could just train cat form :-)

Maybe they'll add something else to replace it, but I doubt it. Really, is everyone so busy that they don't have time to do a few quests to gain important abilities? I appreciate things more when they don't come easily, but perhaps I'm old-fashioned :-)

yeah, the whole polearm things kinda set me back. like, a lot. its sheer brilliance really; instead of updating the vanilla manual, update the game to match the manual! genius.

as for the aquatic form questline, it's still in game, just not something that absolutely has to be done before you get aquatic form. its an optional questline now, but a questline that still exists.
#10 Jan 11 2009 at 11:27 AM Rating: Good
The aquatic questline isn't one of the greatest, but in general I do think some of the arguably necessary deletions in the game detract from it's enjoyment for those who aren't playing just to reach endgame. (That's 'essential' deletion in that long or difficult quests are made utterly unecessary). The flight ability chain in TBC has become truly anti-climactic with a worthless reward one step from an unfinishable task (who wants to work on rep just to be able to enter Heroic Seth any more?) Adding expansions when players might like to see/enjoy older content that's become obsolete is a tough problem to solve.

That questline was very annoying. So much travel involved at a time when most toons have only seen a couple of zones. It took a long time and with the leveling speeds these days, you could probably get 2 levels in the time it takes to do the chain. I am glad they made this change or we would start seeing druid without their seals at all!

your sig reminds me of a similar one for warriors rare:

Quote:
War Trainer: Ok, you know how sometimes when you swing to hit a guy, he gets out of the way?
Warrior: Yeah! I hate that!
War Trainer: Well, I've got a move to show you that'll help you. Next time some guy dodges your attack....just hit him anyway! I call it 'Overpower'.
Warrior: *smacks head* Of course! It's so simple!

I shamelessly stole it from a priest guildy of mine on our forums :-

Quote:

Priest Trainer: I've seen a boss punch through a Shield wall. Men have emptied entire bars of mana at them and hit nothing but air, yet their strength and their speed are still based in a world that is built on rules. Because of that, they will never be as strong or as fast as you can be.
Rusty: What are you trying to tell me? That I can out heal them all?
Priest Trainer: No, Rusty. I'm trying to tell you that when you're ready, you won't have to.
Pause
Priest Trainer: So still thinking of respeccing again?
Rusty: Yes please

He respecs from various PvP specs, PvE heals, Holy Deeps, Shadow regularly and it is horrifying in the new stats area on the achievement tab to see how much he has spent on respecs :)

What will having polearm skill entail for druids exactly?

Is it just another option or is it a truly significant way to maximize your effectiveness in some specific way?

Just a new stat stick.

We share a lot of needs with DKs so make itemization more unified. I think of it as part of the FAP change.

More loot options. Instead of only having 1-2 feral weapons in all of Naxx, you will have 5-6 options.
