I'm having a problem choosing a race for my mage on the horde. I'm trying to decide between a troll or a blood elf (I hate how the undeads armor is always torn).
Play whatever you like to look at.
Blood elf but only if you like bloodelfs if not pick a troll... but only if you like trolls.

If you think you will like to pvp alot at 80 i would go Undead just for Will of the Forsaken.Or if you think raiding and PvE is more your style,go for Trolls for their racial.Now if neither of those sways your choice then just pick whichever looks coolest to you :) that is all that really matters cuz this is just a game :P
I have a blood elf mage and love the arcane torrent, its handy in those situations where you go oom and that mob needs just one more fireball to curl up and die, or I can frost nova and run away! I actually can't believe how many times it has saved me.
I started to level a troll mage but gave up because a 3min cooldown seems so long, and it only runs for 10secs anyway. Plus when he gets hit or takes fall damage, the troll makes this really annoying ribbit noise.... like a frog.

In my opinion, Trolls are the best Horde PvE race.
Berserking and Icy Veins popped together using a macro is just crazy; it gets even better if you have enough points in Arcane for Arcane Power and you pop a trinket. For 15 seconds, you will be a death dealing maniac.
