A cycle-based pve build that I need help on.Follow

#1 Jan 07 2009 at 10:01 PM Rating: Decent
I'm sorta new to forums and I need help with my spec:http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=fGxf0xMoi0oZ0xV0xZebc0hh There are 6 extra points that I don't know where to put...

I know that the strategy is going to be:
Stealth opening:
-Ambush
-Cheap Shot
-Garrote
-gouge/backstab combo

Quick Damage:
-Sinister Strike
-Gouge/Backstab (if I hadn't used it before)

End Moves:
-Cold Blood/Eviscerate
-Rupture

I would like feedback on the spec if possible.
Thanks

Your build is to spread out. You have no utility or energy refreshers besides relentless. You dont have modifiers that could help too much, and backstab sucks. If this is for pvp you should spec more into Sub and take everything out of combat tree and get atleast to ShS.

something loosly to this atleast. http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=fhe0oeMoZZebcdhGdbVzA0o

If this is a pve build then you need to some stickies on here.

I am aiming for a PvE build that has a cycle to it. What about this? I have a cycle of Cheap Shot, Mutilate (however many times), cold blood-eviscerate. It also has the poison buffs. The downside I see is I'm dependent on one ability the whole time: Mutilate.

Your first build looked similar to my leveling build (which I loved). In which case Cheap Shot, Mutilate, Evis if they're close to death... or Kidney Shot and another Mutilate. Then loot and head off to the next target. It's not a very good raiding build but for soloing quest mobs and reasonable for regular instances.... pretty good stuff.

The second build just looks a mess and I'm not sure what you're trying to accomplish with it. Deep Mutilate raid builds don't use Evis or any stealth buffing talents, you're missing RS and Opp and traded Vile Poisons for Imp. Poisons which is a serious DPS loss.

If you're looking for a soloing spec, this is the one I ended up using after a lot of experimentation.

If you're looking for a raiding build, this for Mutilate. But be warned that there isn't a steady rotation for Mutilate as there is for Combat. It's just not the same.

And why would that be bad even if it were true?

Probably because it costs so much energy. Especially when coming from SS, hemo or 45e BS's I can imagine that being rough for a bit.

I do have a rogue that I need to level up fast and I was wondering if there is a build out there that isn't as limited as the spec that Theophany put on his sticky for leveling: Here
I would like the option of stealthing and doing damage at the start of battle so that I at least have a head start at the beginning. In other words, I would like to be able to ambush, garrote, etc. along with the damage bonuses of combat.

Is that possible?

I am missing a level 80 raiding build and I don't want it to be so simple that I'm just clicking mutilate all the time. It gets sort of boring....
I would also like some tips on what moves should and should not be used in a raid. I don't understand why you wouldn't want to use eviscerate because it deals ALOT of damage quick and you can buff it up to the point of OMG. Do you understand what I'm saying?

Rupture/Envenom does more Damage than Eviscerate, not to mention Envenom ignores armor and gives you the poison debuff.

As Mutilate you won't be using just Mutilate, you will also be using Envenom, Slice and Dice, Rupture, and Hunger for Blood.

But those are just finishing moves. What about the combo builders? or are the combo points coming from your talents?

I was just looking at this guys build: Here
Trubbles was his name and he said that his rotation was good. The only problem was that he only got 1500k dps and then GOM said that he just needed daggers.

How would this work for a raid spec?

Mute is the most efficient CP builder we have damage, energy, and cp-wise. You do get points from talents as well (crits and Ruthlessness) but most come from mute. You spam Mute.

That should help you out a ton.

Read stickies please.

That's a PvP spec...

LOL.... Raided much? Being bored from spamming Mutilate is the least of our worries =)

Spend your talent points however you like but there are only a few optimized builds and if you're getting into raiding (or even Arena), you'll need to optimize (aka Min/Max) or be content with sub-par performance. Experimentation while soloing is, and should be, encouraged. While raiding with 9 or 24 other people, not so much.

The build that Therion put up as a leveling build is what I used as well. It is one of the best builds. Combat is another route to go as well. Some still say combat is better since you can get Blade Flurry, and Killling spree which makes soloing multiple mobs a lot easier.

As, Moo stated here those are your typical worries while RAIDING as mutilate, but since you are still leveling HfB isn't worth getting because you will be traveling so much it will expire more than you use it.

QFT.

I personally normally use Cold Blood with Mutilate so I can get the extra combo point from Seal Fate. Just my technique though.
