What weapon would be good for raiding?
I would think that the dagger does a bunch of small quick attacks, swords for medium dps, maces for massive but slow dmg but I'm not sure.
A dagger would be good for taking down the small guys in a raid but not very good for a boss fight because it would take a while to get enough decent dmg out.
The swords you could go for extra swings-combo point additions-SD or Eviscerate strategy but that would be right in between because in my opinion its more of a all around based weapon.
Maces are good for getting through armor and whatever stuff they have blocking your dmg. This would be good for boss fights (hence the armor) but too slow for the small guys.

Get some daggers and go mutilate. Fast daggers, Librarians Paper Cutters off the auction house (x2) and they will last you until naxx daggers.
If you like swords, get a strong fist weapon, and offhand a sword or dagger, check out sticky for specs on everything.
