Ele Gear Post 70Follow

Hello all,

I started myself a Shammy a week or so ago and am loving it so far. I think that it could end up being my next main once it is 80.

I am only level 34 right now, so I have quite some time before I hit Northrend, but I couldn't help but notice a lack of Mail armor with +hit on it. Correct me if i'm wrong, but shouldn't this be one of the more important stats to focus on until it is capped? If so, is there ANY mail armor that has +hit on it before you reach level 80 and are able to get Tier 7?

I know that there is some +hit rating on enh-geared mail armor, I am really just wondering about some for ele shammys.

Edit... nvm there really does seem to be a lack of elemental mail gear with + hit.

But then again, you don't necessarily have to limit yourself to mail only gear, that's a choice to make. No different than fury warriors and hunters wearing leather. That's something to look into.

Yeah some of my starting epic gear consists of leathers and cloths to make up for enough hit rating to raid. But I was able to use enchants and gems to cover the hit rating once I got more mail spell gear. Slightly annoying but no big deal...yet.

If I had a penny for every time some random poster said this on the Shaman boards, I'd have my Traveller's Mammoth.

Good luck mate, I hope they un-nerf Shamans in time for your first raids.

Talking about +hit, I presume u intend to play DPS rather than resto.

At the moment, Enhancement DPS does quite ok on the charts I thnk (but for some reason they are VERY rare).

Elemental DPS is bad. But we're supposed to be fixed soon.

Resto is well sought after.

+hit is not too big a problem with lvl 80 gear. And you can gem with +hit too.

The good thing about shamans now.... the current population is quite low, it seems and we still get invited to raid even if we're partially gimped, for the sole purpose of being the heroism bot.

I had gotten into a few PuG raids just to provide heroism (and some totem buffs), and was the ONLY shaman there. (they only needed ONE anyway). I tried my best to carry my own weight in the DPS part, but no matter how hard I try, I could never get into the top 10 :(
