? about hit rating. Am I bugged?Follow

To start things off, my guild and I are just beginning to get back into doing raids. I have been gearing up from heroics, badge gear, and rep while doing research from these forums, shadowpanther.net, and EJ on how to play / progress my toon. Now, IIRC, according to Vulajin the new hit caps for WotLK are ~8% for specials, and ~27% for dual wield white hits. My hit is at 11.34%, expertise is 25, including gear and talents.

Now for my problem, today I ran 10man OS, 10man VoA, and 25man VoA.... and I missed, a lot. On 10 OS and 10 VoA I have somewhat reasonable numbers on misses, but my miss rate on 25 VoA is bizarrely high, to me at least. A Recount from 25man VoA says my swings missed over 27%(129 times) and SS missed over 12%(14 times). The expertise mechanics seemed to have worked correctly as I was only dodged 0.1% from my white hits and 0.2% of my SS for all of the raids.

So... why is my miss rate so high? To me, the numbers don't make sense... Am I bugged? Did I just have a bad run-in with the RNG?

Well I just realized a big part of my problem:

1. Choking Cloud reduces hit chance by 50%.
2. I need to get the hell out of Choking Cloud.
3. I need to disable some of my addons to increase FPS, so I can get out of Choking Cloud quicker.

Thanks for your post Thomas, yes my hit is low... most of the gear I have sought out and had drop has been lacking in hit, and expertise seems more plentiful than water. The AC boots are exactly what I'm shooting for next as a gear upgrade, currently wearing their tabbard. You are right about my crit / stam gem, I got that on a whim looking for a yellow gem to cover a future meta slot that also gave me the socket bonus, I should replace it with a rigid gem.
