I was thinking about a few ideas I had to improve lock and yet not disrupt the balance for PvE and PvP, so I figured I would come here and see what your thoughts were on it before I formally submitted it.

I have noticed when raiding for the boss fights it is very easy to be competive and possibly the best based on skill and gear; however, for trash mobs and small man fights where stuff dies quick lock has quite a weakness here. I am not saying we dont have options, its just not many, so here is my idea. A new spell line call it curse of (Fill in blank here). How it works, instead of starting out with a very low output and then going very strong in the end, it starts out very very strong on the first 1-2 ticks and rapidly decreases in effectiveness. Now to not make the other line useless it would have to scale to the agony line but be slightly weaker. For example, (Just making up numbers here for a serino) lets say curse of agony was to do 1000-1200 damage in its cycle. It would start off doing 70/80 or so and gradually get more powerful. Make cure of (????) for the same level do 900-1100, but have it start off doing 500ish. Now a couple things must be done, it would be an instant cast the first time, but each time it was to be re-used a delay would be added to prevent spamming, or something to this effect. Make this ability a general spell not set to one tree or ability.

My second idea is moreso for the pvp side of things. I would like an ability called (???) Fearless maybe? How this works is simple. It converts fear into a 5 second break stun/ can't be stunned. After this is used fear is placed on a 5 second delay, and no fear effect may be used while it is in effect. All other spells may be used as well. It would be ability based and not effected by silence.

The last ability I propose is a soul shield. For the cost of 1 soul shard you carry a non slotted shield which gives X% block and X% damage reduction. This is an instant ability to cast, but while it is in effect no drain effect may be used. The power will scale with level, and possibly... Demo can cast one for their pet as well?

What do you guys think? Good? Bad? Stupid?
