Trying to understand DPSFollow
So I currently use Fang of the Desolate Soul. Someone recommended I use Glacier Sharpened Vileblade. I'm currently specced Sub and I'm trying to understand why I was told that the Glacier would be better then my current main hand. Since I'm trying to do burst damage, wouldn't I want the dagger with the highest base damage and crit strike? This is trying to get the biggest single Ambush as possible. Thanks.
For what.. PvP or levelling or raiding?
The Glacier Sharpened Vileblade is an upgrade all around, and if your armory is correct, you are using a green offhand.
Plan of action:
1. Mainhand Vileblade.
2. Offhand Desolate Soul.
3. ???
4. Profit!!
Also, higher ambushes don't always mean best DPS... If you're just fighting 1 mob at a time and moving on, white damage doesn't mean a lot, but even so, the MUCH better stats on the Vileblade greatly outweigh the... .1 speed on the Desolate Soul and Shark Stabber. Also, the base dmg on the Vileblade is better than the other two anyways, so the bonus dps outweighs the lost speed as well.

Has to be for PvP... no sane person would raid as Sub/Ambush burst. Burst abilities operate on the highest average damage of the weapon used in the calculation.
So Fang is 164.5 and Vileblade is 173.
Honestly, it doesn't really matter that much. They both require you to be level 71 and if you're PvPing at 71 that slight difference isn't going to save you. Gear for leveling, get to 80, stress min/maxxing then.
