What's your warlock UI?Follow

#1 Jan 02 2009 at 7:03 PM Rating: Good
I was wondering what users had their UI set up like. As in, what skills you have on the bar with num hot keys, the bar above those and the bar along the right side (of course if you have UI mods, the setup may be different).

I'm unable to take a screen shot of mine at this time, but mine is rather full and wondering if someone has a more efficient way to arrange their talents/skills.

Hey I'm curious about this, too. I currently have a 64 lock and my action bars are pretty cluttered. Granted, i only have 4 or 5 spells that are staples to my gameplay style but I would still like to keep my secondary spells relatively accessible.

I've been running a holy priest recently and have been using the add-on healbot. For those that dont know what it is, it essentially gives you a window with allof your party members naems and gives you a visual representation of their health and status effects. You can assign different spells to different mouse buttons or shift clicks so that you can theoretically have your mouse do all of your key bindings. Is there an add on similar to this that shows all mobs in range instead of all party members?

My run of the mill UI.

Pretty self explanatory and typical :P

Across all my active characters (Warlock/DK/Shaman), there's usually enough room between 1 through =, shift+1 through shift+=, shift+Q/W/E/R/F, anything else I might need I can just click (like Banish, which I have set to ctrl+2, but rarely actually hit).

shoarmakip, it looks like you have a couple of add-ons that i might like. I recognize omen but dont recognize the others. What are they namely the one on the bottom right hand side that looks like a big circle with smaller circles around it? What does it do?

that's necrosis (think that's the right name...) it's a warlock specific mod and well.. if you ever run around your local major city and see a warlock yelling something like "i summon a stead of hell" or "come ziblis, my pathetic imp" or anything other BLOODY ANNOYING SPAM ****!?!?!?!?!, then it means they're using that mod. personally I hate it. lol
#8 Apr 01 2009 at 1:49 PM Rating: Decent
thanks. It looks promising. I'll have to install it when i get home. Why don't you like it? Well, besides the spamming... lol

i have a hatred for 'package' mods. yeah it's nice to have everything together in 1 mod but it generally limits how it can be used and presented.. there's only 1 mod that done it well and that was Natur's Enemy Castbar back in the early days of tbc, after then he stopped updating it and others did and it went **** too.
a quick list of info.. necrosis will allow you to choose which pet to summon/show CDs on certain spells/create stones/mount up/show your shards... well personally I can see my shard count a numerous number of ways.. my keyboard shows it.. it's shown on my bags and on the tooltips for any spell that uses shards, I've made macros myself for summoning pets/stones and in terms of CDs, dotimer covers that brilliantly for any spell i actually care about the CD of and can is far more versatile in how it can be used. in terms of mounts.. well i have 86 mounts.. and I want to use a wide variety of them (obviously no 60% mounts.. but 100% and 280% ftw), so GoGoMounts covers me there for a random mount at a quick button press... oh and yeah did i mention i HATE the spam. I've actually removed warlocks from guild in the past for not turning off the spam.. lol

Bartender4 for keybinds
SexyMap -minimap
Quartz
Parrot-combat text
Prat-chatting box
OneBag -inventory
ghostpulse -skills cooldown

Tbh using necrosis for shard control and bec you can set big icons anywhere on screen that warns you if you can fear ,banish your target as well as nightfall/backlash proc.

i'm pretty certain i did say (or at least hint) that the spam can be turned off.. but i dislike the look and I can get better more obvious warnings for any proc from "elkbuffbar" and more obvious CD warnings with dotimer. only thing i don't have is the "YOU CAN FEAR THIS" stuff.. which tbh should be self evident anyways what can be feared/banished.. lol

This is only for pvp so that I know if I can fear that warrior/druid/rogue/etc... It would be really sad if I used that for pve.

I use the ArkiveUI with a few things changed. I hate the one bag thing so I took out Combuctor and put in moveable bags. I also prefer Cartographer over Mapster that it uses. There's a few other things that escape me ATM. Basically, I got it, then got WoWMatrix and went through the list and removed anything I know I don't use and added in a few guild specific mods that I needed. All in all though it's a great package.

Arkive puts the Char window in the bottom left and the combat log on the bottom right, with the minimap in the center. I use dominoes to change my bars from the default layout so that I have 3 bars on the right that have 12 buttons and 3 on the left with 10 buttons, giving me 62 buttons to play with. For the bars on the right, the top bar is bound to 1 thru =, the second bar is F1, F2 and F3 then R thru \ and the third bar is F thru ' with a few empties. I re-bind the menu buttons to Ctrl+<whatever it was by default>. On the left bars the bottom one is Ctrl 1 thru 0.

so for me:

1 - Curse, Ususally CoA, but I keep other curses in the empty buttons on the third bar to swap in when needed
2 - Corr
3 - Immo
4 - SB
5 - Life Tap
6 - Drain Soul
7 - Soul Fire (never use, but will in Ulduar, so wanted to give it a spot, will probably move to 5 and move 5>6 and 6>7)
8 - Drain Life (rarely use, but nice to have handy)
9 - Incin (again, never use, but it's there to swap with SB in case i switch specs)
0 - Searing Pain (rarely use, but if i have to kite slimes at start of Plauge Wing it's there)
- - Wand (lol)
= - Fel Domination

F1 - /petfollow and /petpassive Macro
F2 - CoT (rarely use though, nice to have handy sometimes though)
F3 - Shadowflame (again, never really use, nice to have sometimes though)

R - Soulshatter
T - Deathcoil
the rest of this bar has various CC and my Demonic Circle stuff

Last bar in the empty buttons is spare Curses, F,G and H have Seed, RoF and Hellfire(neveruse) K is Health Funnel and I have some macros for raid marks down there.

Only real Important bar on the left is the Ctrl 1-0

Ctrl 1 - Meta
Ctrl 2 - Demon Charge
Ctrl 3 - Immo Aura
Ctrl 4 - Shadow Cleave
Ctrl 5 - Challenging Howl (emergency only)

Other than that on the left I have things like pets, health stones, Soul Stones, other things that don't really need to be bound and I can click. Alt 1 is on one of them for quick DEing. Keep a Vent Info Spam over there too.

As you can see, I try to keep the most useful stuff on 1-4, R, T, Y and F, G, H so they are near my movement fingers. The lesser used stuff is spread out, but still, the more commonly used, or more emergency oriented, the close it is to my movement keys.

My Pet bar sits above my left bars, and I have AutoBar which sits above my right bars. Autobar is cool because you can mouseover a button, and several other buttins pop up above it that have similar spells. Like Fel Armor/Demon Armor is in one, all pets in another, Ritual of Souls, SS(create), HS(create), Spellstone(create), Firestone(create) in one, All curses in another, Soul Link and Shadow Ward in another. Whichever one you used last stays in the always visible button and you can bind keys to it. Above my Combat log is another AutoBar that has Hearthstone, Mounts(Shift-~), HS(use), Pots, Bandages, Food/Drink, Food Buffs, Flasks, Spellstone(use), Quest Items.

I'll put up a Screenie of it in raid Combat after raid on Wednesday. Until then, here's a link to it, and you can see some generic Screenies of it, not set up the way I have it though:
