i found this on MMO-Champion. its a nice visual of the scaling of stats for Ret. it looks pretty accurate to me. the original post is in reference to the heavy budget used toward +Haste in Ret sets.

Somehow I feel bad when my armor in ret gear is less than 10k.. but then I look at the stats on plate and cry.

Thanks for the post.

i printed the graph today and actually looked at it. at first glance it looked fine. but then when i really analyzed it, it seemed fishy. maybe i'm overthinking it.

what caught my eye is the Str vs AP. when would 25 AP scale almost equally to 25 Str? general knowledge tells us Str is a minimum 2*AP. i make the assumption this is the OPs current stat scale, i also assume the OP is a Ret pally. so shouldn't the Str scale twice that of AP(more when stat buffs applied).

also regarding Agi vs Crit. 1% crit is 52agi or 46crit. apply Kings you get 47agi(+10%)vs 46crit. pretty straight up in my eyes. AFAIK, agi would not affect spell crit. this might explain the discrepancy, but how much dps really relies on spell crit?

there may be more, but i haven't done the math for anything else.

It's not point for point, it's by point of itemization. Each piece of gear has a stat budget, and each stat costs a different amount per point.

AP costs half as much as Str. 2 AP costs as much as 1 STR, but 1 STR gives 2.53 AP to a ret pally with Divine Strength and Kings. But from the look of the graph, he's not counting Kings, just DS, so only 2.3, or 15% more from strength than AP.

And if he's not counting Kings, Agility would be about that far below Crit Rating. Agility doesn't apply to Exorcism or Holy Wrath, which are a big chunk of damage in Naxx.
