I hope one attribute of Shaman isnt arrogance because thats pretty much all I've seen from a few here of late.

I hope being an ingrate isn't an attribute of Australians, because that's what I'm seeing from you right now. Everyone here has been quite generous during this session of 20 Questions: Shaman Edition. I'm the first and one of only two total people who's said anything to the contrary.

The reason I said something is that it's painfully obvious that you've not bothered to learn anything about the game if you can't even differentiate between weapon types after having reached 80 twice, and that's not something to be proud of. I'll bet dollars to pesos that you had your other two characters tailored for you by other people in the same fashion. You've probably been told how to play the character, every single time a new piece of gear drops you probably have to ask your party if it's better for you or not, and every time there's a talent adjustment in a patch you either don't know enough to adjust your spec or you have to ask someone else to give you another one. If there's someone around who truly knows their stuff you can get away with that, but quite often there's not. Just look at some of the questions we get on this board.

I'm not telling you this because I want you to feel stupid, I'm saying it because there are two types of people: there are people who truly know their classes and there are people who simply play them. And one of these two types tend to turn out to be much, much better players in the long run.

Bottom line: if you have questions, ask them. But if you don't at least make an effort on your own to learn the game and class, eventually our good humor is going to run out and, as I said, you're going to end up raiding at 80 without a single clue how your class actually works and probably turn into one of the already far too many horrible DPS Shaman putting out all of 850 DPS in heroics or Naxx.

No I dont have 2 Mages, what a ridiculous statement.
I have a Hunter as well but my Mage is my main.
You do know what a main is?

Indeed I do, I have 4 toons over 70. If asked I would say my shaman is my main, I may even go so far as to say I am primarily a shaman (though my priest is actually getting more play time at the moment). I would not say that I am wholly and solely a shaman because this suggests, no in fact it states definitively that this is the only class I play. Coupled to the statement that you have 2 80's the logical conclusion is that you have 2 80 mages.

I'm sorry that you were incapable of expressing yourself correctly. Don't blame my interpretation however sarcastic it may have been.

Dunno, maybe. Am I an ingrate?

How much love is coming from this thread....kinda chilly. Anyways. I remember when my shaman was level 1. I was here asking the exact same questions...just not to that extent. I read many threads on builds and got one that suits my shaman...level 40 it may be and holding until my main is 80. Then back to shammy. I learned from dreadlord that agi is the main stat and now that I am level 40 I've yet to begin searching for good slow 1h weapons that will make my DW enhance shaman wreak havoc and have no mercy for those who defy me. Sorry got carried away there.

I tend to read a whole lot before posting for 2 reasons:
1. Someone may have already answered it in another post.
2. I believe researching about the class and figuring certain things out for yourself will make you an uber player who really knows his stuff. Although we are all still considered noobs because we are all still learning something new each and every day.

I believe Dreadlord and others are here to help you and to answer questions but not to play your toon for you. That you have to do yourself. Right now I'm still learning about my hunter...spec after spec after spec....sounds like a broken record playing over and over. I have taken all the advice from dreadlord that I needed to start my journey down the path of a shaman. Shammies rock by the way! I've asked the same questions as the op and have got the same answer in different forums telling me to go play and learn. I have and have learned so much. Still learning as we all are. All in all the moral of my story is I agree about playing and learning the class on your own. Getting clerification on certain topics isn't wrong but asking about everything there is to know about a shaman...well only one person can do that...and that person is you! Thanks for reading this exceptionally long post.
