Warlock wishesFollow

These are mostly all demonology spec, but here are some random thoughts of warlock talents/skills I'd love to see...

• Improved Ritual of Doom - Still takes 4 other party members to summon a doomguard. Only difference is make it like the other summons. As in, it lasts until killed, unsummoned or player dies, like any other summoned demon. No need to enslave.

To make it "fair", since the doomguard is rather powerful and I'm sure some users may complain, increase the cool down time to 1 day. That means 1 doomguard a day. If you lose it, it's gone until the next day.

• "Capture" a demon. Would be sort of like Enslave Demon, but makes the target demon into a demon to summon. Similar to a hunter's ability to get new pets, this would allow the warlock to get 1 demon summon of their choosing, rather than using one of the normal demons we learn to summon. Obviously this won't work on all demons, like the very powerful ones. It'll be more like a "fun" talent to get imps or voidwalkers that just look different than the normal ones warlocks summon. Only can use this on 1 demon. If you want to change the demon you picked, you need to go to a warlock trainer to get rid of it.

• Demonic Circle - Allow this usable between worlds/continents. Right now, if you use Demonic Circle: Summon in, for example, Daralan and then use one of the city portals, you can't teleport back by using the Demonic Circle: Teleport.

• Some sort of flying demon mount. We've got land mounts, so why not a flying one? Or maybe flying versions of the Felsteed/Dreadsteed (they'd be like the Headless Horseman's horse mount).

• Lesser Invisibility - Not like a rogues stealth. This would only work for maybe 15 seconds and would still be detectable if you get close to a mob. Anything other than walking/running would break the invisibility. Maybe a 1-2 minute cool down timer and not able to cast while in combat.

• Improved Metamorphosis - Change lasts until player shifts back to normal on their own. Maybe make it cost 1 soul shard every 5 minutes, to remain in the form.

This has already been done. The ritual will no longer kill a member of your group upon summoning and the doomguard comes already enslaved and can't break out of it. It last 15 minutes with a one hour cool-down, very useful for those fights were you want a little extra dps.

The doomguard from curse of doom still needs to be enslaved and can then break free I believe.

I wasn't aware of the changes to RoD. I'd still prefer it if the doomguard would last until killed/unsummoned, but it's good to know nobody dies and he comes enslaved. Personally, although I've played my lock for well over a year, I've yet to use RoD and the few times I tried CoD resulted in no doomguard (haven't tried it too many times). Having him a permanent summon, with RoD, would make me actually want to use the talent.

Being able to enslave different types of demons like a hunter does would definitely be nice.

I'm actually quite surprised that they haven't given us our own custom flying mount yet - would be a nice time and resource sink to keep level 80 locks busy for a bit longer.

More so then anything else though, I'd like to be able to name my demons - some of the pregen names they come up with for them aren't bad but others really suck.

Soul Transfer -- Right before death, transfer your soul to your summoned demon, you are now your demon. If your demon has been killed, auto-summons the last non-sacrificed pet you had out, then transfers you. You get your demon's spell bar but lose yours.

Lasts until you are killed or sacrifice yourself.


Combine Drain Soul, Drain Life, Drain Mana. Or at least give us glyphs or talents that allows various combinations of either two or all three at once.

Being able to name our summons would be awesome. Can't believe I forgot that one.

That soul transfer doesn't sound too bad, but lasts until killed? How about lasts 5-10 minutes? Should be enough time for you to continue to contribute to a party, until someone can resurrect you. I can't see being able for you to share the demon's body with their soul for too long. Though maybe give it ranks, so you can share the body longer.
