so i tried out fury for the first time a couple days ago, and lets just say that terribad doesnt begin to describe how bad i did. i know its not my gear cuz i was around 3600ap, 22%crit and around 10%hit. it was the fact that i know NOTHING about fury. so i was wondering if you guys could post your spec and more importantly your rotation. also anything else i should know. thanks in advance :D

PS i tried looking thru the 70 pve dps guide but that hasnt been updated for wotlk. if it is still valid tho please let me know :)

I'm actually in a similar boat at the moment... with the exception of a few lowball pieces of gear, I'm pretty much geared with 3268 unbuffed ap (jumps up to just over 4k ap with battle shout), 22% crit and 10% hit... and I find that I'm doing about 1200 dps. This is puzzling to me, as I was doing 1200 dps when I was at around 2600 ap (in older gear). I'm thinking it's either due to poor rotation (which is currently Bloodthirst->Whirlwind->Heroic Strike) or possibly incorrect gems. Any input would be appreciated... as I know I'm doing something wrong.

To the OP, my spec is 15/56/0. My armory page is here

This is my fury warior, check out the talents as you need to have 2h weapon specialization, you also need a 2h weapon in each hand :P

Bloodthirst>Whirlwind>Heroic Strike(or Cleave) should give you good dps.

I hope to get some better gear this weekend.

Rotation should be

Quote:

0.0 sec: WW
1.5 sec: BT
3.0 sec: GCD free
4.5 sec: GCD Free
6.5 sec: BT
8.0 sec: WW
9.5 sec: GCD free
11.5 sec: BT
13.0 sec: GCD free
14.5 sec: GCD free
16.0 sec: WW
17.5 sec: BT
19.0 sec: GCD free
20.5 sec: GCD free
22.5 sec: BT
24.0 sec: WW
25.5 sec: GCD free
27.5 sec: BT
29.0 sec: GCD free
30.5 sec: GCD free
32.0 sec: WW
33.5 sec: BT

And so on. Your instant slams should ideally fall in the 'GCD free' locations for a smooth rotation. Heroic Strike is still your rage dump, and with the change in mechanics, you can virtually spam it non-stop in a raid environment, however, you should still be aware of when you're not able to use it due to rage generation.

Yeah with similar stats to what you guys are posting, I am getting 1800-2200DPS on 77-80 mobs and doing about 1500-
1900 in heroic dungeons. You need that arms two handed specialization and the Deep wounds, the bleeds do 17% of my damage. Otherwise I find the that BT WW and Instant slams use most of my rage, with the Cleaves and HS to clear up any extra, actually not finding that many HS's needed. I still dontt have all my 70 gear replaced:) and my +hit is too low:( Hoping for that upcoming patch to save me with the removal of the TG penalty!

http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Burning+Legion&n=Teragoth My AP goes to exactly 4000 in Berserker with my battle shout on:)

Hey lolism, In rotation you linked(which is great btw) you didn't show the use of execute. I'm leveling my fury warrior(72) and I tend to use it to finish people off. Although, that is solo is it viable to use while in a raid setting, or does it just gimp your damage?

What TG penalty are you talking about? the already low 5% ? You want them to remove that too??! If you're using your lvl 70 PvP gear for raiding, it's not going to help you out with the hit. Last I checked you didn't need a lot of hit anyway...

From what i read, and dont quote me on this, Is that you should keep up your normal rotation and use execute as a rage dump. because i think it will actually lower your DPS to just execute spam at 20%. i will find the original post with that information in it though for, just to be sure.

In my first post the link has all the information about executing.

I find that I don't have a set rotation when I'm dpsing as fury, so I'm sure my dps could go up. I did three heroics last night as fury and came out of all three with over 2.6k dps for each. I was having a bit of a dps contest with a dual wielding DK (he outgeared me) who averaged around 3k dps and outdamaged me on two of the heroics. Was a bit of epeen waggling going on but it was all in good fun.

Anyway, what I tend to do is BT soon as I get rage, then WW. I'll look at my rage and if I have enough to BT again but not more rage I'll wait until BT is ready to use again. If I have a lot of rage, I'll throw in some Heroic Strikes. Also, I miss a lot of Bloodsurge procs but I try to hit them as much as I can.

One big tip which I found was dramatically increasing my dps was to use all my CDs soon as they were available unless we were very close to a boss, then I'd save them for a boss. My typical BT crit was over 4k but with Blood Frenzy, Death Wish, and trinkets I was shooting that number to well over 7k for crits. So that's quite a substantial dps increase.

On bosses I found myself typically doing well over 3k damage. If there were adds, like the second boss in heroic UK, I found myself doing over 4k damage.

My stats in Berserker Stance, unbuffed, are 3.6k attack power, 31.2% crit, 333 hit, and 21 expertise.

My problem is i dont know what to do when WW and BT is on CD. If slam is up sure i'll use it, but after that what next? I always find that the CD for WW is too long and im left hanging with nothing to do.

Ive already glyph for WW, and will activate trinket or bloodrage etc when they are up. But during the period when all of them are on CD, what should i be doing? Also when activating bloodrage, trinket etc.. im not doing any damage, only auto attack. Is this correct?

Any advise?

Thank you

If WW and BT are on CD, you don't have a Bloodsurge proc to use, and the target is above 20% health, then all you can do is queue up a Heroic strike, sit back and wait ;-) You may want to use these lulls to refresh things like Battle Shout/commanding shout/demo shout, trinkets if off cooldown, sunders if you don't have a warrior MT, etc, etc ... lots to do .. however sometimes, for a second or 2, there IS simply nothing to do, in which case yes, Auto-Attacks is your next option.

Thank you. I will up anything that can be up during this period, like recklessness and berserker rage...

Just hope im doing correctly... thank you again

My current fury rotation is BT > WW , if Bloodsurge procs off one of these, Slam, if not, Heroic strike, if it procs off that, slam.. ect. Really simple XD. If im clearing trash i just use cleave and WW for group dmg.

So basically

BT
if BS procs - Slam
WW
if BS procs - slam
Heroic Strike
if BS procs - Slam

Rinse, repeat and enjoy :P

Also, to the OP about "anything else i should know" Try to get that crit rating above 29%, with more chance to crit, you have more chance that Bloodsurge will proc, Which will push Dmg output up if you hit that free slam in time. :P

1) You should be leading with WW, not BT ... WW costs less rage, does more damage and is on a longer cooldown, so it's best to get it out of the way to give you a smoother rotation. Lolism's rotation above is the ideal rotation.

2) Cirt has nothing to do with Bloodsurge, and the slam in NOT FREE ... it's instant ... there's a difference.

This seems puzzling to me as well. I recently (3 weeks ago) switched my spec from Prot to fury and have been building my gear since. Ive only hit a handful of instances since Im really not high enough on dps but yesterday I went to heroic Nerob and we easily hitting 1600 dps through the whole instance. Now my gear is still in its infancy although I did upgrade to the Titanium helm and the Destroyer but otherwise its quest and 1 or two epics. I still sport 3 greens and the rest blue and socket everything with +str. To be honest, my rotation is whatever comes off CD. Ill usually intercept then WW, BT and use slam whenever its up because my warrior is so rage starved that I get impatient, but I dont seem to have issues keeping my dps up past 1500 so far. It can only get better with gear.

A little NUB example of my Fury inexperience.... I farmed mats for 1 titanium destoyer and had plenty of cash for another weapon, so what do you think I spent in on... wrong, I bought another Destroyer! NUUUBBBBB!!!!!! I didnt know! No laughing please.

Hehe, level a DK alt and send it to him ... he'll love you.

To address your statement of "whatever comes off CD", it's pretty accurate. You'll find, starting with and glyphing for WW, that whatever comes of CD is the next in your rotation - the cooldowns work nicely that way.

What's important to note though, is what happens if (for some reason) BT, WW and SLAM are all available at the same time. That's when you hear people say things like "There is not rotation, only a priority list". In this instance, you priority should be WW first, then do your BT, then only Slam. Now, it's very seldom that WW and BT will be off CD at the same time, so I'll make the explanation a touch easier.

If WW OR BT is available, but Bloodsurge has proc'd, making SLAM available as well, always WW/BT over Slam. The brains trust has done all the investigation and Maths, and determined that doing a slam over a BT/WW is a DPS loss. So WW, then Slam (it should still be available), and you're good.
