I've just respecced prot (and am loving it), and have found that it's like playing a new class!
And as with each new class there is a different rotation to be learned.

At the moment I'm using Charge > Shockwave > Concussive Blow > Shield Slam > Devastate, and then I'm pretty much spamming Devastate unless Revenge comes up or one of the others comes off CD.

So what i want to know is: is this an effective rotation?
Please note that this is for levelling purposes not tanking.

Thanks for your replies.

As a prot warrior soloing your best bet is to use your highest damage abilities if you can, otherwise use Devastate. I would say Shield Slam if you can, if not Revenge if you can, if not Concussion Blow if you can, if not Shockwave if you can, and finally if all those are down then Devastate.

There isn't a rotation for prot anymore. Due to Sword and Board procs and the lack of 100% shield block uptime, we can't rely on Shield Slam taking a full cooldown and Revenge always being up, so it's up to you to improvise.

Rotations are good and all but make sure you space out your stunning abilities to maximize the amount of time your target is stunned. This will ensure you are mitigating the maximum amount of damage you are able to.

Once you're waiting on timers throw up your Shield Block for another 10 seconds of damage reduction. If facing casters use Shield Wall instead. Don't forget to Disarm. As the above poster said there isn't really a set rotation, you just have to improvise with what's in front of you. Also after a Concussion Blow or Shockwave back up and use Charge, CD permitting... This will keep the rage flowing and put you in a much more powerful position in case you get an add or 2.

Happy Hunting.

Exactly. It's smash the mole, with priorities.
