Just a quick question guy, for my second trade skill I was looking at doing Leatherworking as I did a bit of research and for an Enhancement Shaman and theres some nice stuff.
But with the armour change at level 40 does a Shaman still use much leather after that or is Mail the preferred option to level 80?
If so Letherworking wouldnt be good value for only half the game unless you mix and match it with Mail after level 40.
Only new to the class so still learning.
Thanks :)

You're not going to wear leather, to be in ideal gear. There are a few mail things made from both LW and BS though. But I think you'd be better off.. not building a prof for armor. Enchant and inscription have some interesting things.

As you level leatherworking up you will be able to make all the mail you could need as a shaman. Blacksmiths make mail at lower levels then all the high end plate stuff.

However, as of right now, the only good use for leather working is making the crafted PvP gear. I'm sure there will be some better gear as more patterns come out and it's always nice while leveling to make yourself a upgrade.

LW makes leather armor up to 40 and then makes both leather and mail from that time on. In fact LW (specifically Dragonscale LW) made possibly the best pre raid epic mail chestpiece in the BC content for enhancement shamans (in fact I didn't replace mine till SSC).

So far LW is not as impressive in wrath content with a total absence of BoP armor (same applies to tailoring and blacksmithing) but hopefully we will see the return of some nice specialist BoP items for crafting professions in the next content patch.

I like Fur Lining (Spellpower) better overall than Hyperspeed Accelerators, which are the only engineer-only thing that wasn't totally obsoleted by dungeon/heroic drops.

Neither tradeskill feels particularly solid, but LWing certainly felt more rewarding and useful to my shaman than engineering was for my druid.

Here's hoping there are tons of recipes incoming with the next patch.
