I am level my priest, which is level 68 and having a blast with it.

I am a holy/disc hybrid, but will be going for a (Mainly) Holy build end game because I prefer that style of healing.

I have started obtaining some gear for when I finally hit lvl 80.

My question is how much spirit will make an item better than an item with mp5.
Spirit addes to mana regen, but I do not know how much spirit = 1 mp5 to determine which item would be better.

I just want the simple answer to this if anyone knows.

Thx for the help.

Never mind I found out the answer. (None Human)

With 3 points in meditation:

5.33 Spirit IFSR = 1 mp5

1.60 Spirit OFSR = 1 mp5

Also bear in mind that if you're Holy, Spirit increases your Spellpower through Spiritual Guidance. Overall, I've always found Spirit to be the more valuable stat, even now when it's got less punch than it once did.

As a holy priest I roughly weigh gear up as 2:1 spirit:mp5. Spirit isn't so great for the disc priest, they should stack large amounts of intellect and some spirit or mp5. Spirit for the holy priest is good, firstly because of spiritual guidance as already mentioned and secondly because holy priests can take more advantage of spirit by using our talents (holy concentration and surge of light procs [plus inner focus]) to get outside the 5 second rule. Intellect is also considered more important for a holy priest than it was previously.

There's a mod called ratingbuster that I suggest you have a look at. It shows you comparisons between the stats of the item you are looking at and the item you are currently wearing. One of the things you can make it do is show mana regeneration (both in and out of 5sr). This is great for examining the relative worth of an item when you can't be bothered doing calculations in your head. This is especially important when some items offer both spirit and mp5 at the same time because its a huge pain in the **** comparing them by hand.

Its really configurable and you can even make it ignore non equippable/inappropriate items. You can also set it to include/disinclude enchants and gems as is your preference.

I've always preferred spirit to MP5 with my holy priest. 35 mp5 really doesn't seem to make that much of a difference.

Added to that, as Teacake said, you get the added benefit of Spiritual Guidance increasing your spellpower based on your total spirit. Throw meditation in, and you can recapture 30% of your mana regen even within the FSR.
