Hello fellow Zammers,

I know the title is bland, but that is what this post is all about. Getting high DPS as a MM specced hunter.

Throughout my playtime on Hunter I have always been BM. I've tried MM in the past and I couldn't bear the drop in DPS. I've seen numbers that show that MM can put out some decent dps sometimes surpassing BM.

Last night, I figured I better get ready for the incoming nerf and try to learn/cope with being a Marksman Hunter so I respecced. My armory link is: http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Cairne&n=Bleam

I'm in a small guild and we are only doing the standard 10 man raids with occasionally linking up with another small shell to do 25 mans. I am the only hunter during our 10 mans.

After I respecced I am only pulling out around 2400dps (Self buffed) max against the boss mechanical target in Org. This is with using all of my trinkets/cooldowns and spamming Steady/Chimera/Kill Command whenever the cooldown is up. I also run out of mana quicker than I do when I am BM. I'm not used to being so frantic trying to push out numbers to compete with my BM build where I usually push out 2.6k-2.8k dps (usually 3k on single target mobs) Our top dps in raids is our guild leader. He is an Elemental Shaman (I believe) pulling around 3k dps during our naxx 10 mans. I am usually 3rd on the dps list losing to him and a mage.

Is there anything I am doing wrong or am I undergeared to be pushing out higher than 2400dps vs. single target as a MM hunter? Any tips/suggestions would be well received. I am open to critisism as well with my spec/enchants/gear.

Thanks for your time and I look forward to reading some much needed responses.

Edit: I am using a cat for raids.

If you're comparing the dummy's against an actual raid boss don't forget that when you raid you are buffed. That makes a huge difference.
