VE - threat?Follow

hey guys, soz if this has been asked but;

Does VE still make huge amounts of threat, i read on the FAQ, but it didnt say.

I have jsut turned 30 and grabbed it regardless, cos it makes me feel pro having it on targfets, but as I only have 40-ish spell dmg the ticks dont heal for a lot therefore nto a lot of threat.

I'm more worried about when I realy start stacking spell dmg, maybe lvl 58+. Will I have to stop using it in Dungeons/raids due to massive TPS?

The reason that VE causes such large amounts of threat are due to the fact that it's healing the shadow priest AND the rest of the party (in range). So, not only were we eating threat from the attacks on the target but also eating healing threat. And that adds up quickly. In this regard, VE still generates a large amount of threat. It's not nearly as much as it used to generate, though. It's been changed so that it's 25% to the priest and 5% to the party members (instead of 25% to each). Still generates more threat than the attacks themselves generate, but not as much as it used to.

Thanks, so it still causes a lot of threat jsut not as much. got it.

So i guess i will have to use it wisely....low TPS tank = no VE.
I have been thinking it over and i guess it isnt needed in every encounter, but its a nice lil boost to keep strain off healer, obv on a boss fight the healing is negligable, but for trash and light AOE, it looks good.

In addition to the fact that VE is healing for less, Shadowform also now has a built-in Blessing of Sanctuary (-30% threat generated). On top of that, tanks are now doing insane threat generation.

I for one have used VE in every heroic I've been in (haven't had a chance to try it in a raid yet), and have not had any issues. I've only gotten close to the tank maybe once or twice, and then I just popped the new-and-improved Fade (drops ALL threat temporarily now) and the tank was able to distance himself from me a bit.

I can't really speak for the levels the OP mentioned (58-79), but at 80 I have had no issues whatsoever with threat and VE. Feel free to use it, but take this with a grain of salt. I would be cautious and keep an eye on threat meters, Omen or otherwise, until you feel comfortable with the amount of threat it generates.

I never had a problem with Vampiric Embrace, and used it all the time in heroics and raid, before the recent expansion. This was against the suggestion of some of the people here, yet I have not seen any major issues, unless the tank is not doing their job.
Start using it when you start to take damage. That is usually the time when it should be impossible to pull of the tank anyhow. I found that VE is sometimes even more effective than shielding, and it helps everyone more.
