I want to hit hard!Follow

#1 Dec 29 2008 at 8:39 PM Rating: Decent
With the up coming nerf, I want to increase my dps. So this is a pure DPS build.

51/13/7

As oppose to
58/13/0

Comment?

I ran with the 51/13/7 build and found that I actually have higher DPS using the 50/21/0 'readiness' build. I was hesitant to give up my exotic pet talent, but switching to 50/21/0 made a huge (over 600 points) difference in my damage output and I really don't miss the extra 4 pet talent points. If you must keep the exotic pets you might want to put all your spare points into MM - but I'm not much for theorycraft - I can just tell you what I saw when I was tinkering with my own build.

Well my only problem with that is BW is being taken off that talent. So the only moves it'd affect would be intimidate rapid fire and kill command mostly. Kill command I don't have to worry about and rapid fire I only use with BW to get the best use of it.

Plus I use 51 for 4 extra points, helps big time at lvl 80. I need to go get an pure DPS pet.

This, or some variation thereof in all likeliness for BM. If you want to be top dps though BM probably isn't going to be where it's at anymore.

Not really.

The two best are non-exotic, and one is a tenacity pet. Of the three classes I have at or near 80 BM is far and away the least useful 51 point talent of the 9.

Haven't been in 25 mans yet, but in 5s and 10s there hasn't been anything that /petfollow, mend pet, and/or maybe some quick love from a healer couldn't easily negate so even the extra survival talents are pretty useless.

Unless you like your screen going *STOMPY STOMPY STOMPY STOMPY* you can pretty safely ignore it entirely.

Spec MM if you want to hit hard.

And exotics aren't worth it, thus 51pt BM is no more than a crutch to help your pet survive where your pet management fails.
#6REDACTED, Posted: Jan 01 2009 at 4:55 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) That was a twist of of "The Ballad of Ricky Bobby" the I wanna go fast line. But I may need to rephrase it. I'm staying BM. How does that BM spec look for DPS not my pet or anything, just that spec and staying primarily in BM, I'm willing to compromise the 51 point talents gone, but idk about the 50...

You missed important things.
1: Longevity is important, very important.
It reduces the cooldown on so many things.
2: Animal handler = a 2.5% smaller change for your pet to be dodged, that's about 1.25% dps increase.
Probably a bit more.

And cobra strikes, invigoration, 5th point in Mortal strikes are all better than 51 BM.
2/2 GftT is probably better too in your case.

50/14/7 is better.

Although I'm probably going to spec something like 5/14/52

planning on trap dancing? Although I'm sad to be nerfed and am concerned about BM scaling really really badly, I must admit I am looking forward to playing as SV.

:D I think they need to get rid of trap dancing and fix sniper training so that it doesn't hurt you wrt buffs etc. But then, I like to stand far away, standing on the boss is going to make me nervous.

I'm really enjoying the EJ discussion right now with the whole ES discussion and how to use it. So much more interesting then spam Steady -> keep ss up.

with regards to your spec, wouldn't it be better to put the points into MS instead of hawk and then pick up the hawk glyph? I'm thinking 1/18/52 I'm under the impression that aimed will be useful in a rotation.

I'm thinking of trying this, but it will depend on how viable trap dancing turns out to be.
