I apologize, I should have this stat tattooed on my eyelids, but I cannot find it in a quick search so I ask here: What is the hit cap for feral kitties?

Here

Hit Rating
1 HitRating = 0.030% Hit
32.79 HitRating = 1% Hit

Cap vs Level 80 mob = 5% Hit = 163.95 HitRating
Cap vs Level 81 mob = 5.5% Hit = 180.34 HitRating
Cap vs Level 82 mob = 6% Hit = 196.74 HitRating
Cap vs Level 83 mob = 9% Hit = 295.11 HitRating (Raid Bosses)

Don't thank me thank the Friar. F Google its in his sig. :)

I (think I) understand the general principles of our stat prioritization, but as a recent 80 who's just found a new guild and is preparing to run instances again, I'm struggling with capping my hit for when I run as DPS. Since I'm not into heroics/raids yet I (am pretty sure I) only need to shoot for 200 hit for now. Which is nice because that's as high as I can get with my current gear, and even that takes equipping lots of older pieces with +hit but much lower other stats. All told, to get to 200 hit I'm sacrificing 250 AP and 5% crit, and of much less importance, losing over 1000 HP.

My working assumption is that for instance DPS duty I need to maximize my AP and crit in context of capped hit.

So I need to run with my "hit kit" which has A) 200 hit, 25 expertise, 4375 AP, 30% crit
instead of my "dps set" which has B) 41 hit, 25 expertise, 4625 AP, 35% crit

Right? And then get my expertise up, of course. : /

That sounds right. Hit>AP/crit with expertise a balancing act

yeah that hit cap is for lvl 83 mobs. for lvl 82 heroics you neeed 196.74. taken from wowwiki all you have to do is put hit in the little search bar they have on the left and it will pop up to the page put in spell hit for spell hit rateing. easy to read charts.

Urh?!? One of us is quite confused. Did you read my entire post/question? I ask because it kinda seems like you're telling me to "L2Search, Noob" when the information/table you're telling me to go search for is not only in my post, but is directly BEFORE the line you've quoted.

And not only did I include the raw info you're telling me to go find, I even (thought I) made it pretty clear that I understand that I'm shooting for 200 hit because that gets me capped against the 82-equivalent mobs and bosses I'll face in level 80 non-heroic dungeons.

I'll give you the benefit of the doubt since you're "a regular" that I know has and posts useful information all the time. Can you please clarify what information or advice or value you were trying to add?

I think people should read the whole thread before posting.

People should also have some coffee and get the crankies out of their eyes in the morning.

Is still the answer to your question. With the AP coming from Strength more so than from Agility. And the crit still coming from Agility.

Again the link to all feral stat conversions is in the Friar's sig. If you can't find it PM him and tell him to post more. ;p

Just a heads up, the Feral Druid Numbers thread has been updated to reflect the current evidence which has been showing the hit% needed for bossmobs is now only 8% in WotLK.

The new figures are :-

Hit Rating
1 HitRating = 0.030% Hit
32.79 HitRating = 1% Hit

Cap vs Level 80 mob = 5% Hit = 163.95 HitRating
Cap vs Level 81 mob = 5.5% Hit = 180.34 HitRating
Cap vs Level 82 mob = 6% Hit = 196.74 HitRating
Cap vs Level 83 mob = 8% Hit = 262.32 HitRating (Raid Bosses)

RareBeast, can you explain this change? Will this affect only feral druids or is this a change for everything? I mean, me, being a boonkin, should lookup for new numbers? Or is this cat form exclusive? And why is that? Thanks in advance.

WOW Wiki has the formulae for hit and critical hit. One can pretty much make an educated guess on what they need, even if the chart is not yet updated to show level 80.

Recent testing on test dummies and in raids has shown that the hitcap is now 8% (for specials & 1H attacks) instead of the previous 9% it was in vanilla and BC. Nothing official has been stated and nobody seems to know why. This affects all melee and hunters. The Titans Grip hit cap also looks lower and the dual wield cap as well, although it is harder to test this as it is very hard to make it to the 27-28% hit needed to test properly.

The hitcap for casters preWotLK was 16% (plus you always had a 1% chance to miss). In WotLK, they got rid of the permanent 1% chance to miss and made the cap 17%.
