You asked for insight and when a bunch of people pointed out exactly why Deadened Nerves sucks you basically said you didnt care for their opinion and wanted to use it anyway. I already quoted it in my response above, but I'll do it again for the sake of relevance:

Quote:
However, I still felt like Deadened Nerves might be worth it. I wanted to see how much it helped with my own eyes. I shouldn't have to educate you on how people learn different things in different ways. Just give up 'cause I have it specced and I'm not removing it until I either get bored with Mutilate again, or I decide it's not worth it. Which I'm seeing for myself that it really isn't amazing, but it does provide noticeable difference.

It's spitting in the face of everyone you just asked for an opinion. Use it if you want to, I don't care. It isn't my talent points that are being wasted. But don't come and ask for an opinion and when people give you valid and completely justified answers on why the talent you want to use completely sucks you lash out at them because it isn't what you wanted to hear. Faced with so many responses more or less saying the same thing and you still refusing to change make me think you made up your mind a long time ago and really only made the topic to see how many people you could get to agree with you. Only problem: no one is retarded enough to think Deadened Nerves is remotely useful to a class already made of paper. A Rogue trying to stress how "useful" Deadened Nerves can be is just like a tank insisting Dual Wield is a good idea. Even in a situation specifically designed to take full advantage of the talent it's still going to be lackluster and pointless to take over something with more utility.

Rogue sucks at mitigating direct damage, that's why we have so many talents and abilities to prevent us from getting hit in the first place. You either can't see it, refuse to see it, or just want to argue out of spite at this point. You don't seem like an idiot to me so I'm at a loss.

Omg, I never tried doing this. I merely said I wanted to play with it. I never said it was OMG amazing. The problem started when I was told to "just go cookie cutter" instead of ******** with things myself. That's all. That's why I made that comment that you bolded. He kept telling me to just follow the pack and I wanted him to understand that I wasn't just gunna simply do that. I technically didn't even disagree with him about Deadened Nerves.

Now for ***** sake, can I just get rated down so we can get over this?

Unfortunately, that's not how it works. Simple down-rates don't mean much because over time your posts even out your karma... It's just that whoever saw the thread and took the time to read it will probably hold you in disregard.

Why would you want to get downrated in the first place? We've had plenty of newbs come to class=4, and after a bumpy start, most get used to the community and pull a lot of useful information in the long run.

*facepalm*

I don't care either way about karma. I just expect downrates.

You wanted insight...you were rebuked. I fail to see the logic into why you're so shocked when just about everyone says the build is sub-par, and yet you still want to argue, because you are unique and special, and HAVE to use something other than an optimal(a.k.a. 'cookie cutter')spec.

Ok, let's just sum this up so we can be done with it.

I use good builds. The ones listed all over that are tried and true. I was playing a BG and thought, "I wonder if maybe adding Deflection and Deadened Nerves together might allow me to stay alive a little longer?" So I then went to WoWhead and threw together what I thought would be the best build to include those talents. I don't know everything so I figured I would drop this off on the forums and thus this thread was born. I have never specced this build so I asked for Insight. I was given great reasoning why Deflection was crap and why people don't like DN. Great. Fine with me. The build is dead. It wont work the way I want because Deflection isn't great. At this point I decided, "Maybe I will play with DN just to see how much it helps. Then someone comes in and says basically that I'm wrong for wanting to play around with it and that I should just take his word for it. That I should just go with a cookie cutter build and stop trying. I said @#%^ that because Not only did I have most of the important Talents I needed, I like to try things out to see how they work. Said someone continues to tell me that I am wrong for wanting to try DN and I say:

Quote:
Just give up 'cause I have it specced and I'm not removing it until I either get bored with Mutilate again, or I decide it's not worth it.

Which was purely in regard to this someones plea to "just go cookie cutter," instead of experimenting and learning why things suck. It's ok for me to doubt people. It's ok for me to want to test things on my own time. I didn't carry on about how amazing it is, or how wrong someone was. I merely said I wanted to try it out. I'm not a mindless broad who doesn't understand how video games work. I'm a good player and I try to learn as much as I can to be as good as I can, just like most of you. I never really supported the build. This was about being told to follow the crowd and not think for myself. If you notice, I don't even have DN specced anymore. I'm just done playing with it. So can we now, FINALLY, get over this?

Thanks to those who actually understood where I was coming from.

Good players use evasion.

Who brought your gender into this, anyways?

Oh god, you're that dude who came to talk to me from another server? I'm too tired for this.

Btw, I did. Emphasis on the mindless more then the broad.

Personally, I'm glad to see people do weird stuff, even shtuff that doesn't work. As long as they give accurate feedback for their experience, it means I don't have to do it. Smiley: tongue

p.s. Seal fate + old style combat build (down to surprise attacks) doesn't work so well for straight dps. Smiley: tongue

Maybe I'll try again someday when I have massively higher crit chance. 3 point SS's might work...
