Ok, I was talking to a up and coming Shaman in /guild today and asked another guild Shaman to support me that Enhancement Shaman are geared like Hunters and relied on AP first and foremost. My supporting shaman shut me down by saying that she relied on hit rating first.... WTH? Now don't get me wrong, I realize HR is important but to put it as the most important stat?? Just how much HR is required at 80? There is food, gems enchants and raid buffs that increase HR to cap. Should your gear be heavy with HR that makes it a priority stat? I was thinking AP, STR, AGI, then HR, CR, etc. I'm out of the loop....lol

I've reviewed the elitistjerks site and have read plenty but I'd like feed back from other players.

Also a bit off topic but is it Slow/slow WF/WF or is it Slow/fast WF/FT? It's my understanding that WF/WF is still more damage than WF/FT and just use LL minus the bonus. Opinions please.. Thanks a ton for any help.

Agi and Int(with talents) gives more benefit than AP and Str. And you do need some Hit rating. If you've checked elitist jerks; they mention at least get to spell hit cap.

Agi, Hit,Int, Crit, Str, AP.

Agi is far and away the best stat for enhancement now. Str is one of the least important as it gives the same amount of AP as Agi but no crit.

Int also gives AP if you are specced correctly. Agi, Int and Str are all better than AP as the benefit from Blessing of Kings.

Hit rating is more important than straight AP IMO (Agi is better than hit because it gives crit and AP) however Hit has a cap so once you reach the cap you can stop stacking it and focus on AP.

There was a great comment made on these forums a while back and it still holds true. Hit to a point, then crit to a point then AP till the Tauren come home.

Everything SunSoarer said was spot on. This part in particular is important:

I suggest you check out Elitest Jerks to get the numbers on how much hit rating you need. Achieve that first and formost; all the AP and crit in the world won't help you if you're not landing your attacks. After that just ramp up your AP and crit through the necessary channels (agi, int, str, AP) as far as it'll go.

What Sunsoarer and Gaudion said.

I just raided NAXX, the misses at Patchwerk was PAINFUL. Saw my DPS drop on the meter immediately.

We took a break after 2 wings,... I used the opportunity to regem, and the added hit rating made a HUGE difference in the long boss fights.

Problem now is,... I cant seem to find wat is the hit cap (still scanning Elistist Jerks for it).

Wai, there are 3 "hit caps" often refered to with Enh shaman: the yellow attack cap, the spell cap, and the melee cap. Hit rating is very powerful until the spell hit cap (17% hit for +3 mobs not counting talents/aura/debuff). After that point you're probably better off focusing on increasing crit/ap.

Also, dont forget to gear for expertise until cap as well (6.5%).

Good point Jade, I totally forgot expertise in my stat priorities. It probably sits between Int and Crit IMO but as with Hit only until cap at which point there is no point adding more.
