Has anyone been using the Doomguard and Infernal? Unfortunately I haven't had the chance to check them yet but I've been hearing they are a nice boost to affliction dps as we don't have any demon talents.
Now that the infernal can be summoned inside it seems like a good boost for bosses that enrage at low health. He's only around for a minute so I'd think you'd only want to use him when a boss is about to go down. Haven't checked but he could be a fairly big dps boost when the raids popping heroism and such as the boss is enraging. Plus it's only a 1.5 second cast.
The doomguard summoning no longer kills anyone(it does take some life away so it could kill low level players), comes automatically enslaved with no chance to break, so I've heard, and will disappear after 15 minutes so there's no chance for it to wipe the raid. Like I said, I haven't had a chance to test this but it seems like he'd be the demon to use for high dps fights however his staying power might be lacking. You can only have him for 15 minutes with a 1 hour cooldown so you better make him count.
I'm just throwing an idea out there, not very good at theorycrafting and can't play that often right now to test it out in the game, but it seems to me that these 2 demons might serve a nice purpose now instead of just being the gimmick "Bring it out in Goldshire" demons.

doomguard is the highiest dps pet we have, infernal is the next highiest. doomguard enslave lasts for 15min, so you can summon it before a boss fight and not worry about it. infernal is kinda more there for if you pet dies in an encounter, then you quickly summon him as a replacement and he lasts for 1 minute
Sweet upgrades - haven't played with my lock for a bit but nice to hear that these two pets have been made useful - how does doomguard compare to the other pets that a demo lock has at his command?
like i said... doomguard is the top dps pet we have, but you don't get any MD buff from him (and not sure about demonic pact/empathy either) SL and demonic knowledge works with enslaved pets though :) but i'd say due to the possible lack of certain demo buffs, as a demo lock you're stuck with the pet you talented for, as any other spec though you can use highier dps pets at no loss :)
Really must finish Doomguard quest line...
