Well, I found a new strategy to heal through Loken. Others probably already know it, but I thought I'd share it.

Usually, everyone runs from the Lightning Nova. Well, as a Holy Paladin, the group doesn't need to. Just engage Loken, and power heal through it.

1) Put Bacon on the tank.
2) Everyone engages, and stays close to him to reduce damage from his Pulsing Shockwave.
3) Make sure to keep everyone topped off.
4) When he starts casting Lightning Nova, get everyone topped, and start to cast Holy Light on yourself (making sure it casts AFTER the Lightning Nova).
5) Lightning Nova will hit everyone for like 10k or so. You'll quickly have yourself topped off, and the tank (with Bacon)
6) Then, cast Holy Light on the 3 DPSers. That will top them off and keep the tank at full health.
7) Then, keep everyone topped off.
8) Rinse and repeat.

This way, the DPS never stops, and Loken dies fast. It works wonders, and is really easy. Much easier than running from the Lightning Nova.

Enjoy

This strategy largely depends on your group setup. I tanked H HoL and we were going to try and heal through the Novas but we had several DPS with right around 15k DPS. First nova dropped two of them and put me in the red. I think the best strategy is to have the tank engage Loken on the line that runs from his throne across the room and use that as your track. When he Novas and chases you down, turn around and run back up the other way, towards the throne and keep yo-yoing up and down like that. That's just handy so your DPS know where to go; everyone stays together to aide the healer, everyone stays near Loken so the debuff doesn't do as much damage.

Good Strat. I tried it that way once but my other party members were not geared in enough stam and got one shotted. We later beat him with the line kite method but its always a close call. I think most of the people I run with now can probally absorb a lightning nova now though and we should try staying in again.

I always used to have the tank stay in on Murmer. I would do the same thing and load a Holy Light so it landed right after his big move. :) I remember how crazy people on the main forum thought that was when I posted it back in BC but I have always been a fan of the KISS (Keep it simple s.....) and pally healing does much better without alot of chaos.

My group did it the same way. To make it easier, each person with some form of mitigation used it on different novas to avoid damage (mage ice blocked the first one, rogue cloaked second, DK anti-magic'd the third, etc.) With knowing that me and the tank would always take damage, I'd just holy light myself and then whoever needed topping off. It made for an easy fight and achievement for getting the timer. The 2 minute timer is trivial with dps on him full time.

Get a shammy or a hunter .
Tell them to put nature resist totem or the nature resist aura hunters have and try to outheal the aoe...
Much easier...

Strategy could be retarded simple - i'm not going back until the lag is fixed. You can't heal through 5 seconds of lag, then randomly 3/5 of the party is dead or near it.

this strat sucks if you have a Ret pally(me) in your group. SoB is suicide in this situation. we did the timer just by pulling him back. i soaked the last nova to make sure we got the achievement.

We stayed in on this the other day and I used SoB the entire time :) I also bubbled through one of the novas and healed myself a bit to take the strain off our Holy pally healer. I think we only got 2-3 novas and he was down with achievement. Staying in once you have the stam ftw.

In regards to the original poster's 5th point, as a tank I prefer to be topped of with a slice of tomato, bacon has too much grease that runs into my eyes and sticks in my beard.

I ran HoL the other day and the Holy pally in our group did something quite different to what has been posted above. He put Beacon on himself and just stood out of range of the blast taking the aura damage while healing the group (thereby healing himself of the aura damage). We were having issues earlier where he was going down due to the blast but this seemed to work out well.
