Odd display driver issueFollow

I've got something of a crippling bug with my display driver, which kinda sucks for me because I didn't even know what a display driver did until it stopped working. What happens is that whenever I boot up WoW, the screen flickers in and out, the image gets all jumbled, and then my monitor just switches off. Stuff's still running, you can hear the music, but the screen is black. Sometimes it recovers and I get a little message saying that driver "nvlddmkm" failed and recovered. I'm using an nvidia 8800 GTS.

That particular error has been happening for a while, but I'd ignored it because the worst it ever got was the screen blacking out for a few seconds. It only seems to happen playing WoW, and after checking the nvidia forums, a few other guys have had problems with the driver ******** up after playing the WoW expansion. Which is kinda why I'm posting here, since my post there got buried. They haven't got an answer either.

The problem got worse quickly and as I type this, there are four bundles of barcode-like red lines running vertically down my screen. They persist when I reboot the computer in safe mode. The driver software is up to date and it doesn't seem like a hardware problem.

Anyway, because it seems to be tangentially related to WoW, has anyone else had similar sh*t with their drivers? If you did, how'd you fix it?

Edit: And, I seem to have put this in the paladin forum instead of general. I am stupid. Can an admin move this? Can admins do that?
