theoretically, what is the crit cap with mages? Could you get to 97% crit with raid buffs, etc and push miss all the way off the chart with only elemental precision? Or could you only get your crit as high as your hit would allow it? In other words, can crit push misses off the bosses chart? If so, would that even be possible with gear / the way crit is applied?

Are you trying to ask that at what % crit it becomes better than hit? I wouldn't worry about it as byvthe time you have that high of a % you should be hit capped - it really is not hard to get 17% hit raid buffed. And there is a cap... 100% which is quite possible during loatheb.

loatheb.

Kinda off topic, but I'd kill to have a warlock summon me to Loatheb(not even sure summoning in Naxx is possible, but I can dream) right after spell stealing a Metanoia buff off of the blue women in Valkyrion. Just to see what kind of crazy DPS I could do on Loatheb with a bonus 50% crit damage.

If someone tries this and WWSes it, I'd love you forever if you link it. Smiley: nod

I think it has actually been done, or at least was unless they hotfixed the buff. Mages were using that buff for crazy high patchwerks and such.
