Pissed and RantingFollow

Ok so ya. A few of my guildmates and I were pugging BT with some other random 70+ people and had been doing just fine until the 4th boss. We just wiped on bloodboil. I think that's his name. Anyways, our raid leader I guess finally realized I wasn't in vent for our guild, and asked if I was in it. I replied and told him I wasn't. He then said, "get in vent". I said no, and so he told me he didn't need me in the raid then and would kick me. Let's keep in mind that at this point we have already gone through 4 bosses and more then half of the raid wasn't in this vent since they weren't in our guild. Also everyone including our raid leader was typing how boss fights were going down in our raid chat. Well at this point he just kicks me out of the raid for not being in vent and not getting in it. So I went off in our guild chat. Stating it was totally F'ed up that he kicked me and that wasn't right considering most of our raid group wasn't even in vent also. So the guild leader blantly says, "well you need vent to raid so you shouldn't be in the raid if you can't join vent". So I again went off a bit and cussed and strongly explained that I hadn't been in vent the whole raid so far and it shouldn't have been an issue enough to kick me from this raid group. I then also explained that I was on my laptop and it really has a hard time running anything else other then WoW at the same time. The guild leader basically says to bad and that was the end of it. Well I voice my opinion a bit more about how wrong that is for a raid leader to be that controlling and demand someone to be in vent or get kicked when half the raid wasn't in the vent and everything was being typed up in raid chat anyways. I expressed my thoughts and then the guild leader kicked me from the guild. I'm so frustrated right now it's beyond ****. If I was wrong some please explain it to me. Cause I really don't see the issue with not being in vent and I don't see how it's right to just kick someone for not being in vent either.

Perhaps it was a bit harsh of him to kick you out of the raid after you explained the reasons to him why you weren't in ventrillo. But this is not what you did. As I read your post you are man enough to admit you kind of threw a fit on guildchat. You cussed, openly questioned the guild/raidleaders authority. Try to see it from his or other people's point of view that read guildchat. They see you shouting, crying, whining, yelling, cussing, whatever. Just cause you got replaced in a raid. If it was a fair kick from raid or not has nothing to do with it, it was the way you took it. Then after he explained his reasons, you didnt accept the concquences and continued.

Actually you say up tp three times that you continued to voice your opinions. If it is enough for a guild kick or just a temp-ban thats up to your guild leader, but as an outsider i think you are the one that took it too hard. For that one raid (old content, BT) you were kicked from, you lost the change on a raid the next day. One raid you missed due to not having/wanting/being on vent, your voicing your opinion has caused you to loose a guild and the opportunity to raid another day.

Now, don't get me wrong. There are idiot raidleaders out there and pathetic guildleaders and if these are one of them i don't know, but it is beside the point. If you are in a guild and running a raid with a leader, you implicity accept the rules the leader sets out. If you do not want to commit, then you should have had the honor/pride of leaving the raid yourself or politly informing the leader of your absence on vent and let him decide if he wants you in. Then after a kick, you could have just gone on with something else in WoW.

Don't know why I took the time to post such a long wall of text, but I feel I might reach others with this and have them understand that of course you can feel cheated and wronged in some way. Often it is wise to take a timeout (as in count to 10) think of what happened and how you feel your next actions can be perceived. Do you still want to throw a tendrum (sp?).. then be ready to accept the concequences.

First of all, that obviously wasn't the end of it if you continued to speak.
Second, if you voiced your opinion the same way you did in this topic, I'm guessing some bad language, insults, or at the very least a disrespectful attitude came into play. No one likes those, and they prove his point in the use of NOT having you, not your point of being a valuable asset even without Ventrilo.
Finally, it's his right as a GL to kick you. Fair? No. But I'm guessing this isn't the first indication that your GL has a hardline stance on some things. If you rub someone the wrong way and they have the power, you're going to suffer for it. Move on an find a new, better guild.

Or upgrade your laptop and get Vent. My laptop slows down when a browser is open, but I deal with using Vent and WoW at the same time :-P

Maybe a "one-on-one" with the GL would have been more appropriate. I am also willing to bet your strongly worded opinions were laden with curse words? While I can see why you were angry, nobody likes to get an ***-chewing in guild chat, especially not the GL. Give it a day or two, take a breather and re-approach the subject a little more calmly.......betcha it works out :) Good Luck.

Ya I know it was wrong to strongly open how pissed I was that I got kicked for not being in Vent in our guild chat. I guess it wouldn't have been such a big deal to me if half of our raid wasn't in the vent server also. It just irritated me that he was so forceful on getting me one single person in vent that he had to kick me from the raid when I didn't join the vent channel. Half of our raid wasn't even in the vent and if he felt that strongly on the vent issue he should have been equal about it with everyone else. The part that pissed me off was the lack of threats and kicking of other people not in the vent server also.

I don't want to go on a rant, here, but America's foreign policy makes about as much sense as Beowulf having sex with Robert Fulton at the first battle of Antietam. I mean when a neo-conservative defenestrates it's like Raskolnikov filibuster deoxymonohydroxinate...
